Okay so I read this first and then reread Mayday right after and bruh fr what is up with Vasya's eyes? Are they blue or brown??? The glow he's got is probably to make him look scarier and more foreign, I don't hate it but it is kinda strange.

I actually do like the art style here, it's pretty but it gives way diff vibes compared to Mayday Mayday Mayday. Like Mayday was more comedic and this one is more serious. I kinda wonder if this one is more faithful to the novel since manhwas have a habit of putting in random comedy or comedic panels that kinda change the feel of the original novel.

I was kind of wondering though if Yoon really did avoid standing out too much like Vasya said, and yeah I did notice bits of him being like "let's just stay home" or "he draws too much attention" in Mayday. This sequel humanizes Vasya more, and I actually felt bad for him that Yoon is still scared of him. But then I reread Mayday, and I'm like I mean he did kinda tear his lip a little when threatening him that he can't really refuse the relationship. Like I mean... It kinda bad power dynamics over here. Yoon really not allowed to leave.

This story downplayed some of that I guess since Vasya already in a relationship with Yoon and head over heels for him, though it comes up with him constantly stalking him and also happily rearranging his insides literally and hurting Yoon. And the subordinates all basically saying the relationship is dubcon. I liked Mayday but now that I'm older, idk how to feel about both these stories. I think Vasya was being unfair to Yoon by saying it was him who was never serious about the relationship. Like how is he supposed to be when Vasya was always threatening him? I mean now that Vasya is more settled in his relationship with Yoon, he seems a bit more trustworthy compared to the Mayday version. Especially when we got to see even more of his human side with the 18 year old version, which was cute.

So I like this story more since Yoon also got to reconcile with his parents and found out his mom WAS on his side. I like it cuz Vasya is more humanized and sympathetic and Yoon is more comfortable to the point of making fun of Vasya a bit (with the funeral). But I still think their relationship is a bit too problematic for me now compared to when I first ready Mayday like years ago. Like please, don't happily injure Yoon with sex!! That's too wild.

Also why is Kay blond now, wasn't he stated to be a redhead in Mayday?

I came back to this after Payday and I'm like what color are this man's eyes for real cuz in Payday they're blue, but here they're like dark brown or something.

Anyway, I wonder which story is closer to the novel because manwhas have a habit of injecting random comedy and comedic panels into the story that didn't exist in the novel so it gives the story a diff vibe. Payday didn't have as much injected comedy and has less of a cutesy art style than this one.

After reading this again, I think I also prefer Payday because bruh I feel like a lot of problems are just glossed over way too much over here and it's nicer to read about their established relationship in Payday. Plus, Vasya is more sympathetic there.

I wanna like it cuz I thought their relationship, especially at the end was cute. I loved their pet names for each other (Kitty, Tiger). And I loved the whole enemies to lovers bit goin on with Hyunsoo hating Youngchan's guts. But bruh there was a lot that bothered me.

Maybe it's cuz it was based on a novel, but the pacing was strange? Like sometimes I'd think I skipped a whole chapter because the next chapter started with something else.
Or like this part of this chapter:

https://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/perfect_buddy/uu/br_chapter-45463/pg-8/

Jeong asked Hyunsoo if he knew Youngchan was gay and then asked if Hyunsoo was gay. And then was all "He already knew??" So I thought ya they both gay. But I was confused cuz in the prologue it seemed Hyunsoo started sleeping with men AFTER he got interested in Youngchan. And I was right??? He started having one night stands AFTER this scene. He wasn't into men before, he literally said he started with men cuz of Youngchan. And Youngchan also was like "I wasn't gay before I met him." So like what did Jeong know???
It doesn't REALLY make any sense unless he's just manipulating Hyunsoo to be gay for him to get dirt on him. Since he also wouldn't let Jungho (the cafe worker, I think that's his name) tell Hyunsoo to leave the bar because it was a gay bar after hours.

And then there's the whole office intrigue part. They'd be so vague and use that chessboard metaphor to make it seem more intriguing and mysterious and deep. But again, I had trouble understanding what they were even talking about half the time and who the villain even was. And then the characters just behaved so stupidly! Like Youngchan and Yeonji keeping it a secret that Hyunsoo is being stalked by Park Wonho. And then Hyunsoo is kidnapped and Jungho is like "I'm sure he's fine." Then he calls Jeong who TOLD him to, and Jeong like "not my problem." Like bros??? Why are you all so dumb. Yeah yea I'm sure it was "all according to keikaku" or watever but bruh.

And the relationship too! It was so stagnant I was getting really bored of it. Had to force myself to finish. Took me 3 days as opposed to like one cuz I kept stopping mid-chapter to just watch a youtube video because I was so bored. Which sucks cuz I genuinely did want to see how the story would end. But like it was an EXTREME version of a "will they won't they" with Youngchan acting like he'll confess then being all "nvm" then Hyunsoo getting the wrong idea like "he don't wanna kiss me cuz he hates me" or "he giving me a present as bribe." Like I get it, manz got issues. But seriously, it dragged on for way too long. I friggen laughed at the side stories when Youngchan was like "communication is key!" And then also proceeded to NOT communicate his insecurity and just bang Hyunsoo in the bathroom even though he said he didn't call him for that. Like REALLY! The plot and relationship relied way too much on zero communication between the two leads.

And then of course when it's not about Hyunsoo being insecure over relationships, it's suddenly Youngchan's fear that Hyunsoo will think he's violent. When he himself talked about being perfect for Hyunsoo cuz he can take Hyunsoo's hits and bad temper. And Hyunsoo all "mom wants to go back to her abusive ex but a violent person is always violent!!" And Youngchan like "damn he won't like me!!" And I'm like ok but Hyunsoo, you literally ALWAYS hit him?? Even before dating, threw his coffee on him, full on tackled him, pulled his hair, bit him. I mean those fights was the biggest display of sexual tension between the two culminating on Youngchan rubbing his dick on him. Which was not cool btw. Tho I admit, I did think Hyunsoo's face was hilarious when he's posed with his mouth open over Youngchan's arm and Manager Kim is yelling stop, and he proceeds to bite anyways. Regardless, Hyunsoo isn't one to talk about his mom's abusive ex, even if Youngchan says he likes being hit.

And continuing more with Youngchan being not cool, I also didn't appreciate his obvious manipulation of Hyunsoo. I mean sure, we all manipulate in small ways, such as acting cute if we think our crush would like it. Or wearing something we know they'd like. But bro is literally calculating. Hyunsoo wasn't planning on having sex with him again until he purposefully used his competitiveness against him and was like "yay now we'll keep having sex!" Or like Hyunsoo noticed, not using an umbrella to look more pathetic. I could overlook it for the smaller stuff, but using Hyunsoo's personality against him to start their sexual relationship felt too devious. I didn't like that.

I thought the side stories were better overall though since they were finally in a cute, stable relationship without any bigger worries. I also like the heavy implication that Youngchan's sister is probably dating Yeonji. And how Yeonji and Hyunsoo are similar and basically have a handle on the two siblings. I also liked how Jungo became friends with Hyunsoo after he called him out over the coffee thing. And I liked how the editorial department was protective over Hyunsoo, though part of that was because Yeonji and Manager Kim needed him as a key witness against Park Wonho. But still, it was sweet, especially since he transferred from a toxic department where he was being abused.

I wanted to like this because the story has elements I like. Traumatized MC who is blunt and doing his best clashing with a relaxed guy who is his polar opposite. Slowly falls in love and has to learn to accept others into his life and learn to relinquish control. Carefree ML with his own demons who looks hella hot when he's serious/angry and likes to push MC's buttons. At its core, Perfect Buddy is a good story. But the pacing and communication issues that plague the story made it hard to get through.

TL;DR
I like the relationship, not the story.

Agree with you on the first half, don't know about the rest but I dropped it around that time
It was just getting confusing and stupid

I knew the dads were gonna be involved and tbh I didn't mind because from the first chapter I could tell the story wasn't something to be taken seriously. It's wild, chaotic, and supposed to be ridiculous. Plus, the kids met as adults and the dads were former lovers, so the weird step-sibling thing didn't really come into play for me. But after reading, I didn't really like the dads... So I didn't care for their story.

Like I appreciate Jaehui's dad more since he seems to be a loving dad to his son, and Jaehui also loves him very much. And they had a happy loving family since Jaehui's dad genuinely loved his mother before the divorce anyways loll

But I felt bad for Hoon who knew his dad didn't love his mother. Granted, the mom clearly had her own agenda and didn't mind based on what Hoon's dad said. And I like to think she was a badass lesbian with her own secret lover tbh lolll but it sucks for a kid to see that when they don't understand the world and see other people have more loving parents and family. Plus, Hoon's dad's kinda a jerk to Hoon. From telling him not to cry to always being engrossed in work. Even after being adults, he's not that warm to Hoon. So I don't like him, and I don't care for his love story. It was a sad story to be sure though.

The only thing amusing to me is to see how the sons are very similar to the dads since Jaehui and his dad both didn't like the Dokgo dudes at first. And also how Jaehui and his father both are more dominant to the simping Dokgo dudes.

Then the special episodes shifting into omegaverse kinda makes me wonder what the omegaverse reason for the dads' split was since obviously in the main story it's cuz the Police Commissioner was mad his son was gay. I'm guessing in the omegaverse AU the reason is prob "Ain't no son of mine gonna be with some POOR AND LOWLY OMEGA."

But that aside, this story crossed so many lines that I can't even be mad. Was it weird that Hoon had his gay awakening by seeing his dad having sex with Jaehui's dad? Is it weird that he prolly fell for Jaehui because he thought his dad was sexy and now here's a better acceptable guy for him, which is ironic cuz he thought he was a replacement for his dad when it came to Jaehui? Yes, it's all weird. But again, this story is chaotic as hell and isn't trying to be serious. I laughed out loud a few times so the story did its job in entertaining me for a few hours. I now want to read more omegaverses where the alpha is unironically the whiny baby and the one who nests and the omega is the scary one in heat.

I could be stupid, but didn't Hyunwoo have 3 other condoms he coulda used?
https://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/you_and_i_can_t_do_this/uu/br_chapter-126283/pg-1/

Like it broke and he was like "I don't have any more" but there's 4 on the bed before he opens the lube... Plot convenience to have them do it raw I guess.

I did like how Hyunwoo became more and more of a freak near the end loll it was pretty amusing to see him going from hating Youngwon, to being a kind and supportive guy, to just plain silly (with that apron) and freaky (laughing at the "cum on the screen so I feel degraded" bit.)

The trauma over the ex felt a bit overplayed. Like for sure, the guy was a huge jerk in how he treated Youngwon when they had sex. And yes, he was definitely harassing the two at work, so it was justified to report him to HR. But the drama with the ex felt so contrived, like just added in for conflict like a cartoonish villain.

Finally, I didn't really like that Hyunwoo quit his job to follow Youngwon. Like the man went on about how 2 years isn't long and he can long distance it. I think Youngwon should be able to be a bit more independent without Hyunwoo babying him and fighting his battles. It was kind of cliché, I've def read other BL where one of the characters quits his job to follow the other.

But like it's only 2 years! Youngwon's going to go back to Korea eventually, then what? The story didn't say where Hyunwoo was going to work. Did he get an offer from a Korean job and the start date was after two years? Did he get an offer with a German company? Did he get an offer with a Korean job with a branch in Germany? Like what. Fr what's the plan sir???? Youngwon was justified in asking bro that. It was sweet he was being impulsive and romantic for Youngwon, but Youngwon moved on from that kinda thing too so... I dunno, I wasn't feeling that ending lol

It did get a bit boring honestly near the end. It honestly took me like 2 years to even come back to this manhwa cuz I had last stopped right at the beginning of season 2. And when I had 4 chapters left, I debated finishing or just going to sleep. I chose to finish cuz I woke up a little and also because I knew that if I slept, I probably wouldn't have come back to finish the last 4 chapters.

But hey, Hyunwoo was pretty hot and I also loved his pecs the moment I first saw them so there's that.

This wasn't as great as I thought it'd be with the whole angst at play.
I was kinda hoping the story would avoid the whole Alpha and Omega losing their mind and Alpha forcing himself on the Omega. But well the setting for this story seemed to be emphasizing that aspect of losing themselves to instinct so whatever I guess. I mean even the Omega says the fated pair thing is all instinct.
And okay I KNOW it's none of the Alpha's business, but he felt like such a homewrecker I feel like Omega shoulda been like "it's fine, I'm not in a relationship." or something if he didn't want to reveal his husband's death. Though he wouldn't say that since he still considers himself in the relationship but still that misunderstanding irks me. And tbh even I'd be like "your spouse doesn't cut your nails for you?" But I wouldn't call him a jerk or a anything cuz ya I don't know the full circumstances. Alpha does suck for making the assumptions and saying he'd be better and insulting him to the Omega.
I was hoping Alpha does just keep his distance and Omega had more time to decide if he wanted to move on and try a relationship with his "fated pair." Like the instant "I love yous" just felt bland and I didn't really feel any chemistry between these dudes. Like even if they feel instant attraction, going on dates and building a relationship and learning more about each other would have been nice and added to the story. Like Omega accepts Alpha and then bam it's just sex, sex, and child. Wonderful, I learned nothing about these two lol idk anything about the Alpha except that he's a nepo-hire and is an only child and played baseball. And as for Omega, I just know he played baseball, always loved architecture, and has younger sisters.
TL;DR this manga was mid, and the daughter was cute, but really the fact they couldn't even expand on the daughter shows the manga can't be bothered to take its time to tell a nice story.

One of the things I love about Onoe and Kabu's relationship is Kabu's drive by kisses. It's so sweet and idk why Onoe is always so confused over it. But it is mentioned Onoe still kinda shy about those things despite bein with him for a while so makes sense for his character I guessss. Manz loves you lots, okay, Onoe?

Cryinggggg I read the first one years ago, knew there was a sequel and didn't it read it yet. Then saw this third one and the comments on the rape and I'm like WHAT???
bruh the first volume was so friggen tame how did we get here

Kau November 8, 2025 5:34 am

Idk why they're vampires drinking cum tbh they coulda just been incubi.
And idk why Sakura would even fall in love with Mizuki and vice versa, there was like nothing but sex.

And tbh, I've read a similar story of someone tryna hold in the sex but it was the uke having a sex addiction or something and doing his best to contain it for the seme. That story was actually better since uke DID contain it, just the conflict was seme not trusting him. Not saying that story was amazing, but this manga reminded me of that one.

Also, couldn't they make a contingency plan for Mizuki whenever Sakura is away? Like they can't ALWAYS be together. Why couldn't he like come in a bottle or something and Mizuki could drink it while he's away? Is it cuz it's not fresh? Does it matter? There's like so many alternatives they coulda explored instead of "wait a whole week to eat." Hell, give him some actual blood too if he don't wanna store his cum in a jar. And his brother is the reason why he eats cum anyway, there's literally so many other food sources for the vampires as Mizuki stated. So yeah, they are both incredibly stupid for not thinking any of this through.

Kau November 8, 2025 3:05 am

I love characters like Sasasori, just little blunt enigmatic fools who are hard to read.
The story was cute but like, woulda been great if they were actually dating though?? Feel like it was just edging the whole way through.
