I've forgotten some stuff so I reread the whole thing: in season 1 finale chapter 32, the other dragon helps taehyuk figure out that hyo un is sleeping to regain lost memories and also the burden of the orb has taken a toll on his body so he's weak.
the beginning of season 2 tells us that taehyuk's older brother is crazy and has an obsession with him so he could be the reason why hyo un was unable to give his orb to taehyuk. taehyuk runs away from the kingdom and goes into hiding from the brown haired yellow-red eye brother and eventually meets the dragon who he names hyo un
season 2 chapter 34-35 tells the beginning of hyo un. the unfortunate flawed dragon. dragons are born from the earth (mountains, sea, clouds etc) and hyo un was born from a murky decaying river (which is why he's a black colored dragon). the river had turned stagnant during his birth and hyo un was unable to learn how to dragon from the river. he did not know what he was until he saw a small child. he decided to take on a child's form and assumed that he was also human. villagers treated him badly and decided to sacrifice hyo un to the dragon but the idiots didn't know he was in fact the dragon. unfortunately, hyo un also didn't know he was a dragon since he assumed he was human. he hated humans after this and he also wanted to kill himself for not being included in the human community. then he meets taehyuk who saves him multiple times that he decides to make that man his mate.
i forget that the earlier chapters go into depth about how their two fates have aligned

Nah Alex just needed the therapy and to suffer some more but he is ok now. Also what the first comment said is not so crazy, Bj Alex looked like dream compared with this one. A lot of college drama but a least DG's life wasn't bad at all aside from the love matters. Bj Alex had the right amount of toxicity but here the author is constantly looking for ways to make Dan suffer even more and to make Jk be more of an asshole everytime

i don't know about queer baiting it has BL elements but it doesn't focus on that, focuses more on the sayo's descent to vampire life and the trauma and madness of yamadera
if what you mean by queer baiting is whether there's sexual action and romance between these boys then yes, there isn't much of it yet but the story is enjoyable for me regardless
