i don't know about queer baiting it has BL elements but it doesn't focus on that, focuses more on the sayo's descent to vampire life and the trauma and madness of yamadera
if what you mean by queer baiting is whether there's sexual action and romance between these boys then yes, there isn't much of it yet but the story is enjoyable for me regardless

i bet the little princes will help ease the conflict between tanse and lorraine. i really like the fleshing out of the plot but the way English is used here gets a bit confusing to read tho haha
but basically, lorraine is a small but independent country rich with water sources and minerals. safe from any attacks in the north and south due to protective mountain ranges. and the country flourishes even more with economic trade from big countries from the east and west (tanse and xehana).
xehana is a flourishing country that supports freedom and benevolence. their queen is hailed as the goddess and literally have a church of the goddess. on the other hand, tanse is a bit rougher by nature. they are greedy with a constant desire for more power.
this is where the conflict between the countries comes in. tanse wants to subjugate xehana (for more POWAH) and lorraine is the poor country stuck in the middle of it.
the recently crowned king of lorraine and his council is in disarray on how to resolve the issue and how to prevent impending doom and invasion from tanse. enter montague, commoner with a bright mind. he suggests the king marry a daughter of a royal family from xehana.
xehana probably (wasn't shown in the manga) had some sort of civil war and political unrest and recently unified (ch21). however, there still remains old xehana. the only daughter of a single royal family will be crowned queen of the unified new xehana. which makes it ineligible to make her queen of lorraine (since she will be the matriarch of another country).
montague corrects himself and states that the new king of lorraine should marry the daughter of a remnant noble family from old xehana instead. this will help remove a thorn from new unified xehana's side (if the two families fight over the rightful throne of unified xehana) and it will also bring back the prestige of the old xehana royal family by being queen of a different but equally prosperous country.
this is how, with montague's help, the king of lorraine and his council were able attract two new powerful allies and prevented tanse from looming in with an invasion, since montague also insisted that the lorraine king must include a condition between unified xehana and old xehana that they must come to the aide of lorraine in times of trouble (from tanse basically)
eventually, montague is invited in the king's council to advise on political matters. he is a firm believer of justice and will not hesitate to convict anyone, regardless of nobility. see ch1 he tries ro get evidence to put someone to jail for embezzlement.
anyway, all members of the council are required to live in the palace, which montague states was difficult for him. too good at social games and too little social tact with people. people didn't like that he was smart, young and frank basically. so he left the palace and wears the white wig and beard to appear more mature.
prince simon, the lorraine king's younger brother and main antagonist partners up with tanse to rebel against his own country because of jealousy and rage against montague who tried to put him in jail. also, the lorraine king picked a wife for montague. prince simon like her but the girl liked montague and montague wasn't interested. (ch 20 and ch22). so prince simon killed the girl for being in love with a montague :)
this partnership begins unwillingly (with prince fredaux, ch19, fredaux is his real name, while in lorraine, he uses the alias louis) when simon kills montague's secretary putting prince louis at a disadvantage.
prince louis explores lorraine with his servant gil and was actually only planning to observe it on vacation since he is to be crowned king of tanse pretty soon. but prince simon exists and ruins his pleasure cruise. he and his servant gil have relations :)
while all this time, adam was probably living the time of his life dicking around (literally) in xehana until his father decided that it's TIME TO STOP and proposed he take a job in lorraine to become the guard for a guy named lord montague. which he slowly falls for.
there's also the issue with religious people and heretics. people are attacking montague cause they think he's an atheist and doesn't believe in xehana's goddess. cardinal rotz, montague's frenemy (dispatched by the queen goddess of xehana) is helping montague resolve this.
to end this long piece of work, i believe the sickly prince luka of tanse and the naive king/prince christoper (or chris for short) will marry and it will end happily ever after (=・ω・=)
montague's worries: king chris wants to legalize gay for luka, adam, heretics and religious rebels, adam, tanse wants to invade them, adam.
