Maybe its just me but I really don't like vampire dad x gunchan. The relationship is forced, violent (and kinda toxic). I usually don't mind this kinda stuff, especially in psychological mangas, but this manga had more of a fluffy feel to it before, which is why I liked it. This relationship will probably develop into romance later. *sigh*, This was one of my favorites :(...
Yep, Gunchan even knew papa vamp was gonna choke him but he provoked him anyway so he could get the answer he wanted (ch77, pg4). The first bite that made him kin was against his will, but the rest that followed were purely consensual (ch58, pg 2). The part where he said he couldn't stop cuz it looked like fun (ch 55, pg3). Correct me if I'm wrong but the times they got physically violent were a total of two: Gunchan punched papa for that surprise bite (ch50, pg 5), Papa choked him and Gunchan kicked him in the stomach to make him let go (ch76, pg4).
I didn't add in the scene ch50 where he help Gunchan at the neck for like a couple of seconds. There was no bruise and he didn't look in pain, like at all. The love bite bruises all over Gunchan's skin were from the assimilation are just the same as what Minhoon got from Hyungwoo.
Gunchan not minding the treatment he got in the hotel apart (ch 54, pg6), Gunchan deducing papa is wooing his ass (ch60 pg 5 and ch67 pg6), Gunchan finding it amusing papa's doing a lot to get him to stay (ch72, pg4).
Papa in a good mood after the visit with Gunchan at the hotel (ch56, pg2), Papa in a bad mood for not visiting Gunchan at the hospital (ch73, pg5).
Even Edric and chief both agree that papa has changed from ruthless to someone who gives chances because of Gunchan (ch70 pg6-7).
yes, but hyung woo didn't bite him on purpose, and was very sorry when he realized that minhoon had become a kin. Papa vamp bit gunchan on purpose without his consent.
Even if I don't 100% ship gunchan and papa vamp, I still appreciate the fact that gunchan is immune to pheremones, so papa vamp can't fully control him.
Gunchan doesn’t seem to give a shit though and if he did, he shrugged it off. That’s what great about him. It’s not that he’s not aware of the danger, it’s the exact opposite. He’s a good match. I’m not asking you to like the pairing. I know we all have that one pairing we hate in a story. However, calling it toxic and violent is a bit of a stretch, especially when the raws show how wholesome they’ll be lol.
yes but violent things did happen. Just because they'll be a loving couple in the future, doesn't erase the violence that happened in the beginning of the relationship.
Anyway, I will be reading the rest of the story and I'll try to keep a more open mind when it comes to this couple. People seem to really like gunchanXpapa vamp lol.
Yes, and the implication of I meant for 'violent' was related to abusive-- which I don't agree they are. We've got chief punching Edric when he does something stupid, just as Minhoon had smacked Hyungwoo when he went out of line.
It's the meaning behind the actions they've done that's important. Gunchan purposely provoked the dad despite knowing the violent outcome of his questions. He needed to bring out the emotions he was asking the dad about. That's why he was like, "can't believe no one noticed your heartbeat". Dad took the bait. Honestly, I think he was so lost in his past and emotions, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a knee jerk reaction. And before anyone starts saying, 'Well if he did it once, he might do it again'.
As far as I remember, he never laid a hand on Gunchan after that incident (well it's still ongoing but we're in ch100 and the latest thing he did was softly caress Gunchan's face when he was sleeping). It had a lot of impact for you to call them 'forced, violent, and toxic', right? Speaking of forced, it's funny cuz they foreshadowed these two as early as ch24, followed by their meeting in ch30. The author did a good job at that.
The dad IS trash though. He does everything he can to get what he wants and that includes taking Gunchan as hostage and turning him into kin. But it's a good thing stories have a thing called 'character development', because he went from forcefully making the other a kin > to asking permission to have sex, to inviting him to the vampire meeting simply cuz he knew Gunchan would be interested, to giving him a hospital room suite, to treating him proper breakfast, to canceling his appointments to visit him, etc.
hhhh ok im kinda tired debating tbh ( ̄∇ ̄") I mean it was actually super fun but the part that’s exhausting is when i have to constantly recheck the comics to prove my points. they take up quite a lot of time. just don’t mind my answer, it’s up to u whether or not you’ll like this pairing. if that’s how u interpret the story, i can just bow out first.
"The dad IS trash though" Haha, glad we can agree on something. I'll continue to read this story so I hope he develops into a more likable character! I do see your point tho, papa is falling in love even though he doesn't realize it (▰˘◡˘▰)
Anyway, thanks for the responses. I was honestly gonna drop this one cause I didn't like papa Xgunchan but I'll continue reading it now to see how they turn out.
So this is out of context but since you're also seeing the raws. I did but can't understand. I was wondering about hyungwoo's mother. It was mentioned the vamp mistress saw her sister burned and then decided to die too! We saw the violet haired on bed so i thought she was the mistress, hyungwoo' s mom. But that black haired vamp actually looks the same as him. If it's too much trouble answering don't mind me lol I'm sure it will be revealed later.

But i'm still so confused? Would hara have grown feelings for the woman if the string was not cut??/
maybe if he didnt have his own partner already. He was aware of all the coincidences and suspected what was going on. Its obvious he fought any closeness with her. I think he only would have allowed his feelings to grow if he was single.
I think that how fate really happens, you don't know, that it's happening.
I wish they had explored this topic in the manga. I wish hara's string was not cut and we could see whether the string of fate would actually make them fall in love or would hara's commitment to the uke(forgot his name) overcome fate?
