I would pay to read this translated, I wish it was on Lezhin or something(/TДT)/ plus the author's other story looks so good but I can not find it anywhere.

The anime skipped and censored so much that it doesn't make any damn sense. The pacing feels rushed and they mixed around so much from the manga. I'm getting worried...

    EreriLover August 5, 2018 3:06 pm

Well, i believe it is a bit to early to make assumptions about that.
As Isayama has stated, he suffered a “personal fallout” after he finished drawing Volume 12 which he believes affected the quality of Volume 13 through 16. He says that he was in a state where his personal energy “totally exhausted due to nothing but my own incompetence.” He also added “after writing Volume 12, in the period between 13 and 16 was when I felt the most disappointed with my work,” he said. “Hopefully, now that [Attack On Titan] Season 3 is being made, I’ll have the chance to wipe away that regret and replace it with something I’m proud of.”
Isayama himself supervises the anime development personally, and thus he believes these changes will make the anime easier to understand and even more interesting.
Also, from what i have seen so far and in the previews (currently 3rd ep preview specifically), it is being mostly rearranged, as in the things are still happening and going to happen, just in a different order that will hopefully make it easier, for non-manga readers especially, but not only, to understand.
Well, this is only what i personally believe though ^^' Let's just hope there aren't any MASSIVE changes (⌒▽⌒)

(also, if you want to see some info about what he stated, here's where i got ot from https://www.monstersandcritics.com/anime/attack-on-titan-season-3-anime-to-change-the-plot-story-of-the-shingeki-no-kyojin-manga-says-snk-creator-hajime-isayama/)

    Nxyeria August 5, 2018 8:16 pm

Yeah I agree with you and after watching today's episode I realize my judgment may have been too hasty. I thought they were speeding things up and skipping over emotional bits for the sake of cramming all the exciting scenes in these 24 eps, but ep 3's pacing was pretty nice. I'm still disappointed by the censoring but I'm glad that they aren't rushing this. It is also relieving that Isayama is working beside the anime production team, I look forward to seeing what his changes will be (I pray it won't be a Tokyo Ghoul root A situation). This was my absolute favorite ark, that's kinda why I was so worried.

    Hanagi August 5, 2018 10:13 pm

Well, i totally understand you, because i love this ark a lot too, i mean, there is just SO much info, be it about the character's pasts or about the world itself, even being a more government focused ark. It's kinda painful in a way when people say that they do not enjoy this ark because there is "no action" ^^' there is a lot, just not the fighting titans one, and it's actually even better action, imho.
On the censoring point, i mean, it's sad that it's happening, but, as you might have noticed, some scenes were added as well (particularly what happened to Nick, like, before his body was even found dead, as we in the manga only get Hanji revealing to the squad that he had died. It might be insignificant, but i do like to know what happens to the characters, and not just someone saying "oh, yeah, that guy, he died", again, just personal preference here^^.
What i am getting worried about is how the other ark, the beast titan ark is still going to fit in this season so well, with the pacing currently being good for this ark… i just fear they rush the second one…
On a side note, so this will be totally my opinion, i don't know if you agree, but this season will probably be the best one so far for SO many motives like the background story of Levi, Kenny, Historia, Erwin, what happened to Eren and his father with the serum and the whole combat scenes that are going to be awesome against the beast titan and Kenny and his squad and GOD i'm so EXCITED for it ლ(´ڡ`ლ) and i just, how should i put it, it just bugs me a little, i guess, that people are hating so much on the OP... it is really good, and it fits the fist half of the season so much and i always feel like crying when i listen to it… it's so nostalgic, beautiful and soothing… and even the ED is a bit on the feels (/TДT)/

    Nxyeria August 6, 2018 12:43 am

I love the op, I told others on YouTube and Twitter that, to the ones who are caught up in the manga, this op is so emotional. Plus I just love anything made with HYDE. And everything in this ark is my favorite, including the beast part. I'm quite giddy for this

    edvard munch August 8, 2018 1:46 am

i feel like theyre trying to fit in all the necessary information and leaving out the unnecessary stuff because there are a lot of things in this season that will take a lot of time to get through.

I hope we do find out when/why Akitora ended things with Rogi. We know how obsessed Rogi is, and how he finds comfort in being part of Akitora's life, but none of the more objective details. It's interesting that despite Akitora deciding to stop communication, that he still granted Rogi his wish to be part of the Ooyamato family, by joining presumably this branch of the group only 3 years ago. Their contact must have stopped long before this, yet Akitora still formalised Rogi's place. Ane-san's death has still being left unexplained also, maybe this was the motivation for Akitora to distance himself from his son and Rogi. Reicha's parentage and the reasons why she was adopted by Rogi are still unanswered too... yet still no updates or closure on any of this.... yet! :)

It was Tatsuyuki that accepted Rogi into the group and performed the cup ceremony with him. We don't know how Akitora felt about it (though we do know Asoda was none too pleased.) What is interesting is how back in Yondaime Ooyamato Tatsuyuki, Akitora was so afraid of being indebted to Rogi that he basically sacrificed Tatsuyuki, knowing exactly what kind of person Rogi is. And now we know that Akitora was very much into Rogi back in the day. It wasn't a one-sided obsession. So whatever happened--and I do think it involves Ane-san's death--to make Akitora push Rogi away, I'm betting it will have to do with guilt on Akitora's part.

That makes sense, I made an error then thinking it was Akitora who exchanged Sake, Tasuyuki did always seem to be more accepting of Rogi, so I can see him trying to appease him by formalising his membership into the 'family", maybe he thought this would help to end his obsession. As you say, Akitora was in a relationship with Rogi, he cheated on his wife for this, and all of the characters in this series, be it Ane-san, Asoda, Akitora and Rogi have expressed 'jealousy" at one point or another. I hope we do eventually find out more about Ane-san's death, and why Akitora decided to stop communication with Rogi, Akitora it seems, also stopped being a parent to Tatsuyuki, with Asoda being the one to pick up the pieces from what it seems. Ane-san died when her son was 7, but Rogi is still hanging around Asoda & Tatsyuki at this point, it's unclear if Akitora broke things off at this point, when Tatsuyuki was 24, he says he has forgotten who Rogi is, so at some point Rogi stopped hanging around Asoda, Akitora and Tatsuyuki and probably adopted his own daughter a few years after this. We still no nothing if how Reika came into his life either! I wonder how Akitora is doing now? Maybe he has moved up to a higher position within their yakuza group, like being promoted to the executive branch, he is a widow now, who rarely sees his son, and the person who he had an affair with for nearly 3 decades still is pining for him, how does Akitora even feel about this, hopefully there will be some closure for us as readers.

We definitely need answers, I personally hate seeing Rogi depressed (in the present time period). His chemistry with Akitora was on a whole nother level. I know many dissagree but I love seeing them together and I really want to know why Akitora chose to distance himself from Rogi.

I don't think Tatsuyuki did it to appease Rogi so much as it is just part of Tatsuyuki's nature to find value in everyone. Because he could not think of Rogi as disposable in spite of what he did to Tatsuyuki, he had to bring him into the group to keep him from being killed (for what he did to Tatsuyuki.)

I don't think Akitora is doing particularly well, at least financially, or he wouldn't have been so worried about being in debt to Rogi.

I do love how the title has turned out to be about those four characters and not just Rogi! And I do think we'll get closure eventually. Sensei's other stories wrap up nicely. I don't think she'll leave us hanging with this one.

MAJOR SPOILER!!! DO NOT READ!

Just finished the whole story and...

I didn't know it was going to end like that!!!! I feel so betrayed! I will never get over this! Why did Ash have to die that way?? Only 18 and lived such a terrible life, he was probably going to get on that plane one day and go live with Eiji in Japan. All his problems where finally done too! Lao literally had no reason to kill Ash, Ash was not even going to hurt Sing! Why did sensei do this to me? We all only got to watch Ash live in suffering and now he is gone. The way Eiji cried when looking at his pictures....please END MY SUFFERING! (/TДT)/ NO! I DEMAND A DIFFERENT ENDING! please...

oooohhh ok that explains why it felt so odd! I wonder if there is a chance (if the anime ever makes it this far) that the producers of the anime might change the ending? It's been 36 years since this manga was published, and they already changed a little bit in the anime (adding in smart phones) so I wonder if the producer/director may have asked sensei to change certain things ._.

I still think the story was phenomenal but I also would not mind a do over for the last arc.

Heres how ash was fleshed out as the main protag: he fought bad people in positions of power and privilege who hurt him and people he deeply cared about despite knowing that it put him in situations that called back childhood traumas and risked opening old wounds for him, making us all be like "how much pain and suffering can a character possibly endure?? Still he pushed through every time, convincing us all that he would somehow be ok. as the story progressed and ash and eiji's relationship came to the fore, banana fish made it very clear that eiji was a respite from ash's never-ending nightmare, a very gentle and kind character we all needed in these trying times, again we were all convinced that things were starting to look up for ash, until the ending hit us like a ton of bricks. In the end ash let go of eiji and chose death. All along this was a dark story where "it doesn't get better" and as devastating as it is, there is still beauty in it.

I dont think they will change the ending in the anime. It's a classic of shoujo in Japan and if they did it would be as if someone changes the ending of Dr. Zhivago in a new adaptation. I just hope they do it in a more organic way and making more sense not just to the sake of the drama. We will suffer for sure adding soundtrack and the extras of the more dinamic visuals of an anime to the scene xd

That explanation actually make the ending a little better thanks. Like I’m ok with him dying (what can I say, I love crying over fictional characters) but I’m not ok with the how. It was too out of left field. And I suppose having him die saving Eiji would have been too cliche.... but getting knifed like that ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Exactly. They could have chosen another way. If he would have die stabbed with a mortal wound that would have being ok I can process it. But let himself die without fighting knowing he would have survived if he'd have been treated in a hospital it bugs me to no end. I know he had still things chasing him, enemies, etc but he had them earlier too and that didnt stop him. It is like "oh no I wanted to run to be with him but this is my reality then I better die" you dont have to go so far my boy!! I know is very poetic and such here I see it out of place and forced. I see a few of tragic endings kind of poetic but they are fitting with the story and the pace, I could give examples but that could be a spoiler if you havent read them yet.
Well, if I had to rewrite it myself I would change that fact the most (amongst others things here and that)

The end was just too random. Pure shock value and I never liked that without reason.
