From my understanding based on spoilers of novel readers. The seme is a psychopath so his love and empathy is to be extremely doubted. He sees sex as a dominating act to conquer weaker ones. He can't conquer taeui the uke so he gets intrigued. It seems like a obsession rather than a romantic story or passionate one.
On top of it all, seme sleeps with the guy whom uke is seeing while seme himself has little feelings for uke.

This manhwa is so underrated like their relationship is the most healthiest , communication included , not only the ML is being clingy and kiss first , cuteness overload , strong male and female lead , hot FL an ML. Yet I never see this manhwa being recommended on social media.
I agree, the relationship is good, mature and healthy! I think our mc deserves all the credit, here. She knows his character well from reading the novel, but she's also mature and with an emotional intelligence high enough to make the best use of what she knows, in every single thing she says and does when she's with him.
Credit goes to the author, too. An author who can successfully portray a real-sounding, healthy relationship so well is most probably someone who's matured after going through many kinds of experiences.
