Funnily enough I didn’t remember much of my childhood until last year, because I kept avoiding my problems and trauma. But last year I started remembering them and I understood where my trauma, anxiety all that started. It’s was very hard knowing things that what my parents said and did to me as a child. People don’t understand that being in a stable and healthy relationship after one or multiple unhealthy and unstable ones is almost as bad as the unhealthy ones themselves. You get THAT much more scared and do stuff to sabotage it yourself cause you don’t know when they will cheat/hurt you/ leave you. It takes incredible strength from both of them. I still don’t talk to my boyfriend about issues. Even things he does that sometimes hurts me (minor things), I just refuse to speak up about them cause I’ve been conditioned to believe I’m being argumentative for asking to be treated nicely. It’s really hard. Even if I get insecure, I can’t go to him no matter how inviting he is. He has to actively pull that information out of me.
