Not condoning sexual assault or anything but I feel kinda bad for Iwasaki. The guy was earnestly courting Ryou and got cheated on because Ryou didn't have enough backbone to break it off earlier. To be honest the (almost) rape scene and possessive nature forced on Iwasaki are hella contrived. Was it the only way to create the tension needed that only lasted the span of half a chapter?? I'm no storytelling genius but even I can see that the characters and plot are lacking...

Contrary to other commenters, I believe there is significant development in the story (albeit at a pacing many may find slow). Right now we are in the thick of Seth's redemption arc. Seth was initially fighting against the souls of the dead (mass slaughter) but now he has come to terms with them and was able to channel them during his fight. I feel that this is crucial part in his character development. You can even see the change in his demeanour when you compare earlier arcs to the current one. It only really feels slow because we get to see just glimpses every week and that there are many characters to cover (e.g., hopping between horus, isis, anubis).

Hahaha Ogawa-sensei sure knows how to write a twisted story alright. Big bro wants to walk the path of light but is stuck in the dark due to his enormous guilt. Meanwhile, lil bro is actually twisted but continues to walk in the light to satisfy big bro's wishes. That second chapter really helped create the necessary juxtaposition between the two.
