I feel like the author had an idea for the story and the build up, but had no idea how to end it. These characters needed more time and development and the usual format of 6 chapters wasn't good for it. Forced ending with an unrealistic outcome of two obviously damaged people. They needed time, counseling, dealing with feelings and even confrontations, letting things out. Kind of an ambitious plot of a complicated subject to make it in just a few episodes. Of course it ended up feeling anti-climatic and forced.

Indeed. I don't think you can even forgive or not even be surprised, to say the least, about knowing that the cause of Mei's death in just mere seconds. Should've been prolonged or something. like if this was a manhwa it would be to most people liking. Episode or chapter wise. That is not to say that mangas don't have the "more than 6-7 chapters" format. It fell short to sum it up.

I was thinking for a moment that, if Seno didn't have lie about being Hakushima, Natsuka wouldn't have cared about him a single bit after the accident, he was so full of himself he didn't even think he caused an accident to -two- people, but just to his crush. I pictured a Seno dealing with his injuries and recovery by himself, even when it wasn't as serious. Seno is already shown to be a lonely guy. It breaks my heart the idea of it :c
This is why I said that it was rather pretentious for Kyujo to define Kotaro and Ayumu's love. I can't stress enough that different things work for different people and Kotaro chose Ayumu and not Kyujo for a reason.
