I kinda feel like the author is trying to almost justify his actions by saying this and that, like bro that’s not how it works

Not to argue but I'm pretty sure an abusive past was hinted at the whole time. Jaekyung whole attitude about needing to be the strongest and his problem with looking weak or showing weakness to others was very apparent and I think the Author took that and ran with it. I don't think they are trying to "Justify his actions" it feels like they just want to make him less hollow of a character. I do agree that it isn't an excuse (if it actually is intended to be one)and hes still an ass.

Bro every asshole seme has an abusive past few comments down someone listed very nicely how they couldve made his character double faceted, hinting at this particular past.
Just think, if this ch was "his parents died early and he was sent to diff foster homes" Or "in an orphanage he was bullied so he learn boxing" Or "he joined gangs mafias at early age bcs of abusive household, thus learnt fighting" Etc
It could all be possible to explain his behavior this or that way

Yeah I guess so but if he whole point is for us to not like him then I think his past not even being something too different from Dan's is perfect. two characters with similar past one turns out to be a kinky asshole and the other is a clingy dumbass who just wants to be loved for some reason. If his past had more to it you guys wouldn't still be hating on him so I think it was a good move even if its a little lazy.

honestly it would make soooo much more sense if the author tried to shoe-horn in your last scenario;
1. as mentioned in the below topic (aishaloves) and the responses, abused children don't just suddenly become like their abusers; abused adults more often than not try to be as different from their caregiver as possible, but unfortunately we end up slipping into the same patterns a lot of the time bc if you're not working your ass off with a mental health support team, it's just a pipe dream to expect to fix those issues on your own
2. AT THE VERY LEAST if he was literally raised by the fucking mafia it'd make more sense why he indulges in those behaviors; abused children will latch on for dear life to the smallest amount of praise they get from whatever authority figure. if fighting makes him strong enough to be more successful for his gang, then yeah it makes sense why he internalizes this shitty upbringing as why he has to dominate everyone and everything.
3. i didn't even consider this, if he was so malnourished he was stunted in growth, then obviously that means he was given A LOT of love and food from coach and his mom to get strong enough to eventually start winning fight after fight; so where did any of the lessons from those two go???? seriously would've been better if the author just kept JK poor and abused in his own bubble of isolation and just said 'fuck you he figured it out.' cuz there's seemingly no reason why he switched up on the coach that brought him back to life hard enough that they're still kinda beefing as adults, and hes as horrific as he is

Unfortunately its been bad writing covered up by dickriders. its so predictable and even since the first chapter [of season 2] she's tried to gain sympathy points. unsurprising from an author who self-admittedly LOVES toxic tops and glazes the top constantly

And reading your 3., you're actually right-- his coach and the grandma mustve cared a lot for him, food, money basically raising him (where are they getting money from bro) but hes still an asshole....
