From what I remember, no. It just so happens that the previous king's regas and Abel are both blonde with green eyes.

We learn later that the first few generations of Regas were all strong, able-bodied types like the original Abel. There's no indication of whether they were blonde or green-eyed.

Nope. Truyde likes blonde and green eyed twinks thats why a lot of regas are blonde and green eyed twinks. Everyone of the noble family kinda knows that Truyde is the one who holds the real power in the palace, ever since the previous king's reign, thats why everyone is trying to cater to his taste.
