reading this story gives me a massive headache because i cant stomach the thought of her raping him. i don’t want to be a hypocrite though - i (BARELY)read abandoned empress (where the ML quite literally drugged and raped her and for some reason, there were female readers trying to justify it with trauma??), i’ll read this to see what happens. i want to see whether or not this story will romanticize the rape like so many other ML-literally-sexually-harasses-FL. maybe itll play out differently when the roles are reversed, who knows, but i rarely see this shit so im morbidly curious. this makes me really sick though, and that last chapter made me feel really fucking bad. like fr, locking a child with her mother’s recent corpse...? arts good though.

p.s. wtf is going on with ezekiel’s ass? i feel bad for him but i genuinely don’t know if his ass is enjoying this??? or going along with it. im not too sure whats going on with his backstory either cause i kind of just skimmed past this to avoid the ahem scenes. so like someone kindly drop a spoiler because i do not want to invest too much time in this.

waiting for a second lead because as much as i rooted for the emperor, i just can't now. he can settle and work with his concubines and political affairs and paulina can settle with a different male lead or her own bombass self. it looks like the emperor just can't and won't fight for her anymore - like, he's resigned to the idea of her never loving him back, and paulina's just too dense. unless he gains the courage to fight for her love harder, i hope he doesn't try and manage paulina's hypothetical future love life cuz that's like really toxic.
