Ignoring all the other glaring problems in this story, I cannot understand Leah’s character. She is broken to the point that she wishes to die, yet she also talks about how important the people of her country are. She then goes on to say that she is the only person in the royal family that cares about the Estians. So why does she think it’s so important to do literally anything before her death? She knows Serdina and Blaine cannot run the country. She knows the country will fall into ruin under their leadership. She is staring her one actual bargaining piece in the face and somehow convinced that marrying Ishakan is a terrible idea and that of all the people surrounding her, it’s the Kurkans that want war? Not the crazy ass Estians that treat them as subhumans? Her brother literally spits in the face of peace, but she’s worried about making sure he doesn’t ruin his reputation before taking the throne. She knows he is crazy. Once she dies he will… still be crazy. She is shown to us as the only logical and intellectual person in the royal family, but she can’t put 2 and 2 together? You want peace? Marry Ishakan, the one person that is on your side with the power to free you from your fate and also protect your people?? He clearly has more respect for them than your own brother. It’s just so stupid that I have to regard Leah and her plight while ignoring the stupid decisions she keeps making.

A spell that makes her dedicate herself to Estia and only put its wellbeing first. A spell that directly contradicts doing anything her mother wants. It’s a very silly explanation and makes this already paper-thin plot even more unbelievable. They were better off going with the having her being brainwashed via trauma than an actual curse. Or shown some semblance of the curse during the many times she spends overthinking and over explaining every little thing. But they don’t. They impose the idea that it’s because of lifelong trauma that she refuses to act out against her mother and then add on the curse later on as if they realized how silly her decisions thus far were

At the very least I will say the author spent plenty of time to show us that Takoi has a very warped image of himself and is an insufferable people pleaser. I don’t know if we will find out why this is the case, but Takoi strives to be accepted and well-liked to the point of being fake with others. It’s no surprise why he would say these things about being perceived as gay. Think about it, he didn’t deny or say anything bad when the Izakaya owner or his coworker caught on. This was because they didn’t make fun of him. He only starts to ramble about it being disgusting or weird when people start fussing over him. Even with his coworkers, they were talking about him having a girlfriend and he still shot himself in the foot because he didn’t like the negative reaction. He needs to grow a spine and learn to live for himself. Typically this plot is very exhausting and boring to read, but the author actually made it part of his characterization so I’m not that annoyed.

This story is shaping up to maybe be cute but I just can’t believe this dude was a No 1 host. The premise is just not
realistic lol

Your reply seriously pmo so I had to do the research and I was right:
"One characteristic of host clubs is the monthly ranking of hosts according to total sales, which stirs rivalry between them."
Which just confirms what I was saying with how a host doesn't need to be immensely popular with a lot of customers, but only need to have high sales. The guy is shown to have a specific type of customers who like his personality and are clearly willing to pay more to boost his sales. There's a word for that: efficiency

Person above me had a meltdown and then blocked me but I’m still gonna reply so: You need to really think more before replying to me and claiming my comment pissed you off. I know how host clubs work. I meant that if you wanted to believe he has high paying clients despite his behavior, go for it. He isn’t shown to have anything aside from telling us he was #1 before. He offers so after work services (money lost) and actively tells his clientele to not work themselves to pay to see him which is a common outcome for women that spend crazy amounts of money at host clubs. This isn’t even worth arguing about, I literally told you to believe what you want because it’s literally not that big of a deal. Get a grip.
I love when two idiots fall in love
