This is just probably one of those things that are best read once it's completed. Waiting for chapters lessens the impact of the mystery because we are forgetful people reading so much other stuff in between releases. Being confused is understandable. Heck, I don't even know what's really going on. But we'll see. We'll see. I don't want to read much about and speculate theories because it might just create disappointment when things didn't go as imagined (makes me remember about all the crazy theories in Life is Strange and it all turned out that things wrapped up pretty simple).
So don't stress, lovelies, soon it'll all make sense.

If I were to learn that it was indeed my dead love who is communicating with me on a telephone, I would've shamelessly bawled my eyes out on the receiver and the person on the other line would be like... WTF brah...
Seriously though, reading the comments, I learned that this kind of story has already been done quite a number of times. I have already pointed out before that it would really be cliché if our prot ends up saving him from dying and got a number of downvotes for it. But really, you have to be honest that even though this is good, the story formula has already been done a thousand times. I just hope the author would do this differently or simply add an interesting bit of "more" into it.
Well, this isn't marked as tragedy so I highly doubt that he will die, if that's what you were implying. But I guess we'll just have to see :p
This is probably the only manga I haven't rated yet that had already reached almost 50 chapters now. I know I like the story so far but I also know this could also suck at a drop of a hat. We've been stuck in a flashback for many chapters now and I'm itching so much for the moment when all of these would finally make sense.
I rated it 5 stars because so far, I've never read a story that twisted my mind so well and kept me trembling at the edge of my seat as I read each chapter. I can feel my heart racing each time I read it and I just can't wait to unravel the truth. This authors work is so mind blowing it has gone far beyond yaoi. I've lost count of how many times I've reread this story and I really think it's well thought out so I doubt it will suddenly suck at the drop of a hat.
I also gave it 5 stars cause the plot is simply amazing and the art is breathtakingly beautiful. What more do we need? Yea the flashback is long but it doesn't have any fillers, each chapter is important to find out What exactly lead to the present situation.
I've read better-paced mangas and manwhas that got me to the edge of my seat than this. Don't get me wrong, I love the story but I wished it was better paced. You can drag out a mouse-cat chase for only so long before you get tired of it.

I think this work is build very well cause it mange to confuse you until the very end, and still staying original then just using rape.
I see I read many from your list already, one of them was Sakura Gari - and I absolute hated the pacing in that manga unlike Fushigi yuugi and Genbu Kaiden [aaah!! I still love Genbu Kaiden!!!]. watase yuu is a great story teller, but when it come to BL, sorry to say it just isn't her thing! it just not working well with her what is sad.
also you didn't mention blood bank, that build out very interesting other then using rape has a plot point.
Well perhaps it's just based on personal taste. But for me in pacing - Sakura Gari >>> Moritat. Confusing is good in mystery. But stretching a mystery to 40+ chapters is just too much for me. It might be good in a novel for everything to just wrap up at the end but if you'd consider serial stuff, the mystery just wavers off to the point of getting a little bit gimmicky. Moritat still haven't got to this point but for me it's treading the fine line.
it's not like it didn't give any answers for 40 chapters, it did give us answers. just that you didn't get them until much latter so I think you wrong about that. that just how detective plots works, it does give you all the "answers", but you won't get them until the very end cause you can't. it build that way, so if you want to blame something blame the fandom of detective works XD
if you want to talk about a real bad pacing, then read "Unstoppable Siblings", now that a real bad building, a bad pacing and annoying waiting for 40 chapter just for a stupid love confession that should have happen after 5 chapters. now that is annoying!!
has for Sakura Gari while the pacing was bad, what I really hate about it is the way she build the plot points, it look stupid and not connected very well. and don't make much sense. it disappoint me cause I really like Yuu Watase works and the way she can build worlds. it make me sad but I guess every author have a work that didn't fit their style, maybe this one is the one for Yuu Watase.
It would be predtable if he'd save Jae Ha from dying, but let's see how the author will handle this.
I can't wait for the moment when all of this would finally make sense.

Unfortunately this things happen in real too. Probably the artist felt that way somewhere in their past. Many people say art has no place in the practical world which is all about success dictated by the prestige of money. To all stifled creative types out there who are kept on being put down by others, just keep doing what you love. There will be people who would appreciate what you make and the effort that goes with it.
Yeah, it's very likely that happened. In Korea, there's a lot of pressure on students to get good grades and get into colleges. There's been a lot of suicides because students don't pass a test or get bad grades. In fact, Korea has the third highest suicide rate. :-/ sad, isn't it?

I think art has place in practical world, some ppl have stick too tight up in their ass, so they can´t see it. What they don´t understand has no value for them.
In some third world countries you can´t be really an artist, you might get tortured or killed.
