You can't just have a oh he's the reason Daniel and his dad died but also back out a little by being like "oh he wanted Daniel captured alive so technically not thatttt much to blame" and "oh he's a psycho but look at them being funny and cute together" like bitch it just makes it makes the hard hitting part of the plot feel weird and meaningless. Plus mc ain't that much of a freak so it just makes him feel shallow like he doesn’t care that much about all the shit that just happened.
