I should be sleeping for work but I saw this updated and I wanted to cry. Callisto is the bestest love interest ml I have read. He loves her for who she is. Not caring about the past Penelope and her old personality or the new one that insults the Crown. It may be the cliche "she is the first to treat me like this" but I feel it was done right where it ain’t annoyingly used. How the man went with it is perfect.
He didn't know what love was and that is Penelope couldn't bear giving him a chance until he kept proving that those feelings are actually real when he didn't think so either. However, here we are with the man confessing to her genuinely while she still tried to put that wall there for him to destroy it completely because his love for her is real, red and passionate. He won't give up no matter how many times she insults him, put up barriers, anything... deep down, she knows she has affection for him too but she is scared and wanted to go home, not to be tied up in the game where she can't make her dreams come true.
Callisto said he would do anything to make it true if she stayed. Being the Empress and Archeologist would be interesting.

The way her family carries her is hilarious. At this point, she is just used to it, may still grumble but makes no attempt to ask to be put down.
Jeon needing his little sister to sleep with is cute. You have a sensitive boy who can't sleep well monopoly have a pink fluff ball that is seemingly human comforting you to the point of confusion.

I don't think Amelie is that bad. She looked uncomfortable at first with the marriage process. She didn't reveal any smirking or anything. She seems kind and gullible. The type to fall in love like a little girl but has no backbone to do murder. Edward though, he does seem to care for Scarlet but it seems the money was more important that he reluctantly married Amelie who seems to be smitten with him.

Between the in-laws, i would prefer the Grandma, she may be strict but she has been nothing but kind and and maybe a little stern but not too the point you dislike her. She may also be a little old fashion, but there's an air to her I just like compared to the mother-in-law who is really deadset in her ways of being just vile

Oh yeah, Grandma is the better of the two. However, I really disliked how she was “fair” to Dmitri’s evil stepmother despite seeming to know the situation with the MC being bullied by her. The evil woman literally tried to kill the cat beastfolk and was always blatantly undermining Dmitri’s and his wife’s authority in the household, yet the MC needs to apologize for putting the bitch in her place?? What??
Feel free to ignore. I just get so mad whenever I think of that “killer lily and subsequent fake allergy” arc. Grandma is either totally oblivious to her daughter-in-law’s evil nature or she’s trying to remain stupidly neutral despite involving herself in the MC’s affairs.

How does one grow a backbone when for 10 years of your life, you have been abused so many times that your mental state is severely affected? There is no literal way for her to stand up for herself when her family blames her for existing and causing the Duchess' death allegedly. False accusation just to make her feel lesser than human and find no real support until the ML came in to save her from misery and show her what real love looks like, of course slowly.
Olivia and her situation is painfully realistic for those who has been abused to the point, the slightest bit of accusation towards her makes her fear she did something wrong.
The Duchess, while betrayed by her husband who brought a child in from another woman, was slowly ready to welcome in the child because she saw the child did absolutely nothing wrong. She saw Olivia was already being abused in her own household and she wasn't having it. She decided to divorce her husband and most likely take her children with her after getting settled with her parents. Unfortunately, that never happened.
Now Olivia's father... he has his faults but according to spoilers, he was taken advantaged of by Liv's mother and blackmailed into having the child. He was right to be angry but now that his r*pist died, his anger redirected to his child, even stronger when his Duchess died. He could have just sent the child to the orphanage or given her to a new family, but no. He much rather let the poor girl suffer for her bio mom's mistakes.
This is so real. She was in love in the past life with the wrong person and in this one she is trying to get revenge. The ML knows her feelings but sees she is denying it herself because he can see she is fighting demons that don't make much sense except for what he has seen at the academy.
Chances are, in order for her to fully accept the feelings she has and allow him closer is most likely telling him about the past life. Cledwyn will see how much it would make sense why she is extremely smart but also falter when her fears and trauma begins to show at sudden points. Why she cries in her sleep and why she is so desperate for revenge on people who only simply bullied her and those who don't seem to directly affect her in this life.
I honestly love these two and how they fit each other well.
