I realized that when you read all the stories in order, it kinda makes a story. especially the last story "current one in 2019" is called "have a nice ending"
Its like an outro to sya goodbye to all those things and to be happy and live freely kind of thing. you know?

I quotate chose cause he still went to Japan EVEN THOUGH jin-ah told him not to.
going to get the potion means that he must go out there and work again, as a hunter. and jin-ah didn't allow that. he technically did choose jin-ah over him and declined to potion deal but he did go to Japan which meant leaving jin-ah either way. I don't know but it's still a difference to making a choice.
