i miss the artists old art style, in the earlier chapters the characters showed WAY more emotions, now the characters' expressions are so wonky looking. claude looked WAY better in the earlier chapters (that could be said for all the characters tbh) especially in the prologue he was so buff and built now he looks like a twig hvsghbjd (maybe that's just me tho)

- this side story opens w juvellian getting a checkup from the imperial doctor. she's been feeling very fatigued lately and her body feels heavy. she thought it was bc she's been working hard so she brushed it off but at one point she felt very dizzy to the point where max asked her to get checked up bc he was worried.
- so the doctor is checking her and then he gets surprised which really scares max bc he thinks something bad is going on w juvel but the doctor ignores him and asks juvel when her last period was.
- she tells him that her last period was 2 months ago and that's when she realizes she's pregnant. she's scared but at the same times she's really happy bc they've been wanting a baby for so long. max is also super happy and he hugs her.
- we cut to a scene where regis is rushing to get to the imperial palace bc he hear juvellian was feeling ill (i love him)
- back to max and juvel, it hasn't been that long since her pregnancy has been announced and max was already ordering people to create a room for the baby. he asked for the floor to be carpeted incase they fall, the corners on furniture to be softened, he wanted the room to be full of toys and books. (PLS CUTEST DAD TO BE)
- juvel decides to put a stop to it by asking him to escort her back to their room but she still thinks he'll be a better parent than her.
- regis arrives at the palace asking if juvel is okay to which she responds she is. but she doesn't know how to tell him that she's pregnant.
- juvel wanted to tell him calmly but mister big mouth max decided to blurt it out. this part was hilarious bc regis's tea cup slanted and he spilled tea all over the floor and max still had a big smile on his face. (i mean i told you this man was happy)
-ok this next scene was super cute. so juvel asks him to leave the room so her and her dad can talk privately and max gets all pouty bc he doesn't want to leave. he thinks something bad will happen to her and their baby. she then tells him that he has a meeting at 4pm and that they baby will not be happy to learn that their dad missed an important meeting bc of them once their born.
- max then stands up in determination and says no that's not possible that he'll show them just how great their daddy can be and then juvel says that the baby is very proud of him LMAO SO CUTE
- after that regis stays in the palace for a few days which makes max frustrated bc his invading his time w his wife lol but decides it's for the best bc juvel missed her dad v much.
- regis brings her a lot of food from her favorite tea shop. strawberry cake, waffles, etc. at one point juvel thinks she's getting fat but max and regis tell her it's normal and that she looks very cute.
- her due date is approaching and her belly is very big for her small body which worries max. she tells him that she doesn't like staying in the room and they go for a walk instead.
- as they are walking she suddenly gets a pain in her stomach, max asks her what's wrong but she can't answer and collapses to the ground. max gets scared and hugs her while he yells for a doctor.
- after the court doctor arrives, max is not allowed in their room except marilyn, a midwife and the doctor himself. he's scared bc he doesn't want to lose juvel. he falls asleep for a bit until regis arrives and tells max not to worry that his daughter is strong. max then says "Yes, Father." which made me so emotional bc regis has kind of been like a father figure for max and i just AHHH
- anyways juvel finally gives birth, max was w her the entire time holding her hand and he's the absolute sweetest like i cant??? here are some of the things he tells her :
[ "Honey, you worked hard. And thank you. For being so safe." Max, who stayed next to Juvelian for about 10 hours without eating anything, was very choppy compared to usual. Juvelian smiled helplessly and grabbed his hand.

- they agreed and juvel thought that was the end but then they started talking about middle names LMAO

SIDE STORY : PART ONE
- so in the first part of the side story we open w juvel having a tea party w her friends and they're talking about who their first love was.
- many people thought that juvel's first love was mikhail but she corrects her friends and tells them that her first love was a boy who saved her when she was eight.
- freesia, who is her personal guard, overhears this and decides to mess w max.
- freesia tells him that juvel had someone before mikhail and max is shocked/jealous.
- the thing is that little boy that juvel met was actually max in disguise when he was younger. they just don't remember and freesia does that's why she decides to mess w him (it's so funny)
- he was out w his mother that day when they both saw a little girl crying asking for her dad to find her. and that little girl was juvel.
- they walked up to her and juvel immediately asked them to take her w them but max's mom (who was the empress at the time) said she couldn't bc her family was very complicated and instead gave her a bracelet to remember her and max by.
- max was in a disguise that changed his hair and eye color. his hair was blond and his eyes were purple (maybe that's why juvel was so attracted to mikhail hmmmmm)
- the person who took the bracelet that the empress gave juvel was regis who was searching for juvel frantically.
- he met w the empress and she told him that it would be good if juvel married max once they grew up (omg shes a psychic BIG BRAIN) to which regis said not a chance LMAO
- back to present time, max is very conflicted bc freesia mentions that he also had a first love when he was younger and guess what that first love was also juvel (pls they're such dorks)
- juvel finds the truth out when her dad visits the palace and gives her the bracelet the empress gave her as a kid and she connects the dots.
- she gets mad in the most adorable way at her dad for not telling her sooner. she tells him that as a punishment for not telling her, every time he visits he has to bring her her favorite strawberry cake from her favorite tea shop LMAO.
- juvel goes to tell max. once she arrives to his office and drags him back to their room, max thinks she found out that he had loved someone before her so he freaks out.
- as soon as they get to their room juvel plans on telling him right away but max interrupts her by telling her he loves her, that she's the only one for him.
- she realizes he won't let her talk w/o him telling her he loves her so she decides to play w him a little.
- she asks him if he has anything to tell her. he's nervous at first but then tells her that he had a first love before he met her. he asks if she's mad and juvel says no, that it's normal for people to have first loves.
- they talk about it a bit more and turns out smol juvel asked smol max to marry her when they grew up and smol max agreed (SO CUTE)
- after his first love convo she brings up her first love. she says she wants to tell him but max gets all pouty and says he doesn't want to hear it. juvel then says 'but we talked about your first love, am i not allowed to talk about mine?' he's reluctant but then agrees to listen to her.
- she finds it cute how he's getting jealous of himself but continues nonetheless. she talks about how handsome and sweet her first love was and that she would've married him if he was still around. max then desperately says to forget about him and to focus on himself instead and starts bombarding her in kisses.
- she gets frustrated nc he's not connecting the dots and decides to just blurt i out. in her words : "My first love, is you! You idiot!"
- after that she had to "...bear the brim of his overflowing affection." meaning they had the seggs LJNDCNK
- the side story ends w him saying the nobles have been bothering him about a successor so they have seggs once again HAHA
