- so yes for the people wondering regis did give her the sword to protect herself and the reason max showed up was bc regis asked maximilian to have her safely taken out of the prison she was in.
- in exchange he would help max overthrow the emperor.
- the reason max said those words once he entered the cell was bc he needed to be as covert as possible bc the knights guarding the entrance to her prison cell were some of the ones that worked under the emperor.
- if the emperor found out that regis and max were trying to get her out, he would have used regis to kill juvel w/o him knowing.
- in the first timeline juvel and max didn't know each other AT ALL (well kind of i'll explain in another post)
- so we all know what happened next yadayada she killed herself.
- when regis found out she killed herself he went BATSHIT CRAZY bc at this point who was he protecting?? the only reason he was alive was to keep his daughter safe but he failed her.
- he has this really sad pov where he's like 'why did i do this?' 'why didn't i keep you safer?' 'what's the point of anything anymore?' like he completely lost himself.
- he ends up going on a rampage and kills everyone including the emperor who is the perpetrator of all this.
- now if you remember from a couple chapter back regis owns a pendant. that pendant allows the owner one wish at the cost of their life. it was given to him by his father.
- so he ends up using it and wishes for juvel to get another chance at life and obviously it works.

- regis is a transcendental. which is a very skilled swordsman/fighter w superhuman abilities. someone who can use their magic/man and mold it into a sword or into their sword something like that i don't remember lol. HES REALLY POWERFUL THATS ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW
- anyways he became the emperor's right hand man at a very young age. alot of his peers warned him about it (his father, his wife, max's mother) but at the time he was very naive and just assured him that nothing would happen.
- one day the emperor invites regis over to the palace for a drink. regis thinks its just another day of drinking nothing will happen.
- the emperor's plan was to get regis so drunk that he questions if he's awake or not. it works and regis is really drunk at this point. so as he's drunk the emperor uses this chance to take advantage of him.
- he asks him to sign a contract w him. as you know the emperor is a coward and uses people for his protection and since he knows regis is a very skilled swordsman he decides to use him as well. he talks about the contract and regis being really drunk agrees to it and that's how the contract w the ring started.
- there's more to the ring but it's really complicated to explain so i'll just wait for the manhwa to get to that point lol
- from then on regis's life goes downhill. i do want to say i think regis is probably the most pitiful character in this whole story.
- so from then on the emperor controls him by making him kill (basically murder) people w/o regis knowing.
- the emperor doesn't let regis visit his father who is on his deathbed. he doesn't even let him say goodbye to him like?? how messed up is that. he does attend his father's funeral but that doesn't make it better
- his father's death really breaks regis bc i mean that was his dad and he had warned him about trusting the emperor and he should've believed him. he cries for days it's so sad.
- the emperor makes him miss juvel's birth, his mother's death, juvel's debut ITS JUST SO MESSED UP AND SAD GAHH I HATE THE EMPEROR!!!

so like i said he was the one that gave juvel her third and second chances at life.
- for those wondering why he started treating her differently from her first life it's bc when he noticed that she broke up w mikhail something that didn't happen in her first life, he thought maybe this was his chance to make things right this time. to get close to her and protect her for sure this time.
- mind you he's still under the emperor's control but he's going about it in a different way.
- also the fact that max is also in the picture now he's reassured that juvel's safety is stronger than before.
- he trains max harder bc he knows if he's ever under the control of the ring max will be there to protect juvel from him.
- he is awkward at times, and we see that as the story progresses, but he tries his hardest and that's what matters.
JUVELS MOM/REGIS'S WIFE + LOCKED MEMORIES AGE 4/5??
- so from what we see from juvel's perspective, he treated her very coldly as a kid.
- which confuses juvel once when max tells her about the stories regis would tell him about her as a child.
- max tells her that her father talked about her being a very lively and cute kid, who would ride on his shoulders and ask for candy all the time.
- the reason juvellian doesn't remember any of this happening is bc her memories as a kid were erased/blocked out of her mind.
- when juvel was a kid regis DOTED ON HER SOOOO MUCH LIKE A LOT
- he would call her his princess, when she would say she was gonna marry him that would make him super happy, he would give her tons of gifts and candies, he would play w her all the time LIKE HE WAS/IS THE SWEETEST DAD
- this was around the time he was/is being controlled by the emperor.
- during the night he would act as a completely different person almost like a robot. and the reason for that was bc the emperor would control him to see how things were in his dukedom.
- the only person who notices/realized he was acting different was his wife. amelia.
- this made amelia very paranoid and schizophrenic, she believed that regis was cheating on her bc he also missed juvellians birth (like i mentioned in the first part)
- they fought a lot and a lot of the servants and maids were used to this. they all believed that amelia was crazy, they all believed she was sick including her brother (geraldine's dad)
- bc of this she would treat juvel very weirdly, she was very bipolar around her.
- sometimes she'd be happy w her, other times she'd be mad/annoyed w her.
- one night, amelia realized that regis wasn't acting like himself again.
- and she was right. regis was being controlled by the emperor to go get rid of his 'most precious person' meaning juvel. he was also being accompanied by two of the emperors strongest knights to see if he succeeded.
- amelia woke juvel up and told her to hide in the closet, that they were playing hide and seek. juvel agreed and she went to hide in the closet.
- smol juvel waited for a while but then started hearing people argue, she realized they were her parents so she walked out to see what was happening. like i said before the maids/servants all thought this was just another fight between a wife and a husband so they didn't come to help.
- juvel could hear amelia screaming 'who are you!?' 'where's regis?!'
- once juvel walked out regis immediately went and grabbed her by the neck, amelia screamed and juvel started crying 'daddy!'
- her screaming that almost broke regis out of the control of the ring but amelia beat him to it by smashing a vase on his head which made him release juvel. he began bleeding fro him head.
- amelia then told juvel to go get help, so smol juvel ran out and saw two knights standing outside the door. these two were the emperor's knights but she didn't know that.
- she then said, 'help! mommy and daddy are fighting you have to stop them!'. both of the knights smirked and pat her head and said 'okay we'll go help just stay out here okay?' AHHHH THIS IS SO SAD OIENXJDN
- she stayed outside for a while waiting for them to stop fighting but then walked back inside.
- what she found traumatized her VERY MUCH.
- she saw her father crying very loudly holding a bloody sword, her mother on the ground dead along w the two knights.
- now from her perspective it looks like regis killed all three of them, but that didn't happen. he killed the two knights after he saw his wife being killed by them right in front of him which then awakened him to become a transcendental bc of the grief and pain.
- juvel seeing this screamed until she passed out from a seizure.
- from then on, whenever she saw her father, she would get so scared to the point where her seizures were getting worse.
- regis had no other choice but to have her memories erased/blocked bc he couldn't stand seeing her like that.
- the reason he started treating her coldly after that was bc of the guilt eating away at him, from not being able to protect his wife and juvel losing her mother figure.
- juvel remembers all of this after her coming-of-age ceremony when she gets in a coma.
- it's a very sad scene when they confront each other, he started crying saying that he didn't want her to remember this bc he didn't want her to hate him but juvel tells him that it's okay now that she'll protect him from the emperor and then they hug and cry some more AND I START CRYING TOO OUDBXNJ
- he tells her about how he's being controlled by the emperor and that makes juvel hate the emperor even more

trust me y'all things get WAY WORSE for trashta later on and it's SOOOO gratifying
- in the next few chapters you'll see sovi's favor in her disappear, like at this point he only cares about the baby in her stomach, he gives no fucks about her as a person.
- another thing i found really funny is that navier is living rent free in her mind 24/7 like that's all trashta thinks about.
- always thinking 'is she doing good in the western kingdom/empire' 'who are her enemies?' 'i hope she's unhappy' SHIT LIKE THIS and my girl navier could care less, she's living her best life w her new hubby that ACTUALLY APPRECIATES HER LMAO it's so funny.
- she embarassaes herself in front of the nobles by copying the way navier talks and dresses, like she starts wearing red when we know damn well red is naviers color.
- she punishes a lot of her maids just because 'she's the empress and she could do what she wants' and it comes back to bite her in the ass once all of her bad deeds are exposed.
- also once she gives birth, the baby turns out to be a girl and she's so disappointed that she didn't even want to hold her, she only held her when the maids told her that sovi was coming to see her. (she wanted a son to secure the position of the throne and in the eastern empire there hasn't been any female emperors)
- there's this other part that REALLY pissed me off. so when she finds out that navier is pregnant and that heinley actually treats my girl like the way she's supposed to be treated, she starts getting mad bc 'oh why is she living happy while i'm over here suffering' (mind you at this point sovi doesn't care about her and let's her tarnish her own reputation bc he wants to dethrone her of the empress' spot sooner)
- so she goes to naviers baby shower and she brings the sword that navier gifted her for her baby shower in order to 'insult her' which doesn't even work bc my girl navi handled it in the best way possible.
- when rashta gave her the sword navier was like "thank you for giving it back." like she emphasized 'giving back' and then she said "i never wanted to give you anything of mine in the first place" NAVIER IS THAT BITCH AND I STAN HER FOR THAT so rashta gets super mad and walks away.
- this. this is the part that pissed me off the most. so then she walks over to heinley and starts saying vague shit like 'if things were different i would've been in navier's position right?' like saying oh maybe i should've been your wife instead of navier.
- heinley gets super mad and tells her to stop but the bitch keeps going and says 'i was your pen pal remember? you fell for me right?' LIKE BITCH WHAT??? HEINLEY NAVIER AND SOVIESHU ALL KNOW WHO THE PEN PAL IS WHY ARE YOU SPREADING FAKE NEWS MOCUJBECNEJ anyways let me calm down...

juvel has lots of mana but lacks magical talent but she will learn how to maneuver said mana towards the final battle of the story and becomes a talented wizard.
the misunderstanding w her father will be cleared up and it's a very emotional scene that i will explain in regis' spoiler topic.
she regains her locked memories after her coming of age ceremony when she faints after touching an orb of light and is in a coma for 6 days.
in the first timeline, the sword she was given was actually a sword given to her to protect herself.
it was from her father, but also from the goddess of magic, kirke. its called the sword of potection.

her job in her first life was to seal paphnil away for good. (i will also talk about kirke and paphnil)
