It's hard to word it all properly, but I think the heart of the matter is that all of this could have been the original Sylvia's but because no one even thought to reach out a hand to help her, her ending was that she chose death over abandonment and exile. It's painful to think about.
Sylvia was just a child that never received any love even until her end. The outside world looked at her and decided she wasn't good enough, and when she turned to her family, they rejected her because she didn't meet their expectations. They ignored that fact that every where she went, someone looked at her in scorn, and then they themselves then turned around and blamed her, criticized her for her worse traits.
The only one that seemed to actually want to help and bond with Sylvia was the very sister that everyone compared her to. Even her own father seemed to favor Eileen and never tried to understand why Sylvia acted the way she did. He just decided that she was a bad child and looked at her as though she was an enemy. It's also apparent that because Eileen was cuter and more outgoing, the brothers chose her over Sylvia, who was introverted and liekly gloomy. It's not hard to assume that they likely only ever sided with Eileen, ignoring the possibility of their being a misunderstanding and Sylvia's possible innocence.
Now, there's this new soul occupying Sylvia's body, using her memories, and because this new soul is 'brighter' and 'prettier' and 'more socially acceptable,' suddenly everyone's acknowledging her.
The father will watch her and see how this new 'Sylvia' has become a 'better' person, and finally. finally, deign to give her some of the attention she so badly wanted, but too late, his daughter is dead.
It's heartbreaking. Sylvia will never receive this. Even if the original Sylvia has been reborn again, she would have likely been just as introverted as before, so who's to say that despite her working hard to change herself, anyone would have acknowledged it?
I'd rather have read a story where the original Sylvia was given a chance to experience happiness.

Nonetheless, it doesn't make me feel any less better about the chapters already released. The character isn't treating herself as though she was Sylvia; she doesn't have that same emotional connection to everyone that Sylvia did. She could very easily forgive and forget will all the characters with no real bitterness or resentment on her part.
I'm not saying that Sylvia was a saint; she was cruel to the other innocent in the family- her sister. As we don't know how the older brother treats her, I can only say that I want to see Cedric and the Father honestly regret how they treated her, apologize, and not just believe, Oh Sylvia has changed, now I can give her attention. They didn't do anything to help her. They pushed her further into the deep end with no guilt. And now that's she working hard to have a better life, now that she's depending on herself and disregarding them, now she's worth acknowledging? It's just makes me sick is all.
The way most of these stories go, is that most of the time, characters like that don't even apologize, they just get let off scot free cause, naturally they should treat the past MC poorly, she wasn't worth the effort and whatever else excuse.
I'm sorry. I just don't have high hopes for the story's progression with the characters.
And if there is one, may it please be a spirit. If she ends up with someone from the royal family, I will spontaneously develop absolute power, enter their world through the computer screen, and slap sense into all of them myself.
Uncle dude, be a father and actually talk to your daughter. Your wife is hopeless. I think Lafilia and the Prince are perfect together. They both have technically done nothing wrong but are still very unlikable. They deserve each other.
Phew, okay, I got the frustration out. I stand by my quip about Ellen not needing a ML. The Prince and the Cousin are both redeemable. They're still children. There's still room for them to grow.

The emperor is an idiot. Holy shit. And of course, the twins are confused. No one tells them anything. They're just like ~trust us~ Yes, as Arjen pointed out, simply trust the people that left them abandoned and abused for fives years of their lives. And don't get me on that ~we weren't allowed to see them bullshit~. God damn, I can think of at least five ways off the top of my head on they could have maintained contact with the children, without having to approach them publicly.

But didn't the second prince(the one who put a protection spell on them) tried to explain the situation, but the twins just ran away, they didn't even want to hear him even if a few panels behind they saw how weak he became in order to protect them.
I'm confused...? That's why my title was that above. Basically, the second prince is the only one in the imperial family that has any brain cells, and if he wasn't there, they would all be dead in a ditch somewhere and the kingdom probably already taken over. I was frustrated while typing it, so maybe my wording was harsh. It was a compliment. (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
Confusion cleared. Nevermind. I reiterate, he really is the only exception. My words were mostly directed at the emperor. Had he done more, explained more of his actions instead of taking a child's words at face value- well, there's so many things he could have done otherwise- he never explained anything to the children and just expected them to trust him. And, the only reason the second prince thought the twins were dead and never sought out other ways of approaching them was likely due to the fact that his father hadn't. I know I'm being really harsh on the emperor, but he really needs think about more than what he will do in his next two steps. I mean really, what kind emperor let's a total stranger near his blood, especially in a world which magic is proven.

Angela has to be one of the best FLs I've read about in a while.
Without having to delve into the villainess, lady of foresight archetype, she's managed to stand out and be such a refreshing character. Unlike a lot of FLs, she's not wishy-washy, and while she maybe be insecure about her feelings and how the Prince may reciprocate them- she's very ascertained on her own emotions. She's stubborn, willful, but someone that is her own self.
I feel like, had this been another shoujo-ish webtoon, the female lead might have been swayed by the Crown Prince's advances. The fact that regardless whoever else is in the room, she will only glow the brightest when she sees Rayburn is very sweet. It truly makes me want to root for her character and her positive future development.
Not to say that I don't love Rayburn as a ML either. The author could have easily kept him as he was in the beginning, an aloof, bloodthirsty man and implied that he was vulnerable under the surface. The artist takes the time to depict his emotional vulnerability, his anxiety, his fear, his small moments of joy. He's a fleshed out ML, and I love that.
Another plus, is that exempting the two main leads, all the other characters (aside from a few, who for obvious reasons are just bad people), are layered (like onions). The author's maintained a level of mystery with each of characters, keeping the readers unknowing in what a lot of the character's true motives are.
And lastly, as a reader, I love the author's love for storytelling. You can see it in how they showed that stories change minds. That stories bring people together.
