Yes, author, we understand. The suddenly announced country where no savior should ever go definitely won't have anything to do with the new arc. There's absolutely no way this new determined savior that wants to save the world will go to this new area. Yes author, this super smilely guy, we shall trust him.
What I hope to see next chapter is every member on that team crushed, and then Phoenix swooping in and showing them the real difference in power. (I don't actually like Phoenix either tho, but since he seems to be written as the MC's equal, at he very least he should be made likable.)
Idk, man, I'm really disappointed right now. I can't see Maid succubus demons as putting up a real legitimate fight... The new member appears to be a girl. Maybe the author is going to show off her power and build up the team's ego? A higher they are, harder they fall scenario?
I like the concept of this story, but it's really boring. Nothing exciting is happening.
I feel like the main character's future development is fairly easy to conjecture. He continues to collect more females with which to bond, and more demons to befriend and work with in battle. He will become the unbeatable enigma of the tower all the way to point of the big battle between Phoenix and him, and then Identity Reveal, it was the black mage everyone slept on for so long. He's strong! They misunderstood him! The glory of someone finally receiving credit for all their hard years of work.
Phoenix and his team however, I'm not so sure. I'm big on tropes in which things are pushed to a limit and then the satisfying aftermath. Which I thought the author was going with (the higher they are, the harder they fall), but with the last chapter it seems otherwise. Maybe something more gradual? Nothing instant and gratifying. No one will notice at the beginning; all their flashy powers and gimmicks continue to wow the crowd. The audience won't realize how each battle was difficultly won. The power of editing, as one of the team members had pointed out. Then it starts to shift. The battles continue to increase in difficulty; they no longer can hide it. Someone starts feeling off to the viewers watching, it's different. They question it, and then I suppose maybe their rank will start to fall?
"I don't dislike him a lot, maybe a tiny bit of resentment." Pretty much concludes my impression on him at this point. He doesn't feel like a likable character to me. Sure, he yelled at his team in defense of his friend, but that really did nothing for me. Because the MC is his friend, the team has decided he's not allowed to defend him? That he's deluded? That says to me that he's not actually the leader of the team due to some unified sense of trust, but simply because of the power he was born with. I want his character to develop more. I want him to grow and not stay stagnant. That's my hope.
For the heroes always win comment, if you don't mind a maybe spoiler-
I read in it in the comments. It was mentioned in the novel that the MC has said that to Phoenix when they were just children, and he has held it close to his heart. If that's true, certainly it's a naïve outlook, but it's definitely cute at least.
Makes sense. The team would trust Phoenix more if he were a better leader, them only following him because he has power fits. If he doesn't grow, he'll just be an annoying childhood friend, but if he does, I'll certainly look forward to the fight that's bound to happen.
Naive indeed, but it's true that it's cute. I do hope that despite it's what his friend said that he realizes differently.
"...the mask slowly cracking..." Good metaphor. I wouldn't mind that either. But, is it sadism or simply wanting justice? The MC is someone that has worked hard his whole, but due to something he was born with, he's been looked down on and discredited. I think it's only natural as humans that we want to see a righteous ending for such a character.
But I just really hate the ML right. As someone that tends to have very specific routines (i legit have aspergers, my dudes), seeing all this being enacted... just because he wants to be 'noticed' is so enraging. I doubt this will go down the lane of the MC being strongly effected by it all mentally (the author even went out of their way to flat out deny he has OCD, rme), but- and, yes, I realize, it's being played as a joke, having my usual coffee not available due to more trivial reasons (than outright harassment in this case) can and has sent me into mental down spirals.
That shit isn't funny. It's not cute. Don't mess with people like that, escpecially if you have noticed how 'particular' they seem.
I really like the MC; I hope this doesn't disappoint me.
Yeaa, I felt annoyed cuz the sunbae was disrupting him and the sunbae denies and dgaf. Lyk, people have a routine they follow and hoobae follows his religiously
.
I honestly get annoyed/angry when someone distracts me from something they know I'm focusing on what more if someone stalks and follow me around and getting in my every way I woulda flip out for sure
And then on top of that, he keeps making a big deal out of how the MC hasn't apologized. Like no. He doesn't need to. ML is straight up the one at fault in all this.
Boohoo, he couldn't remember your face. Okay? So What? Why is that his problem? He knows what he wants to do with his life, and he's devoting himself fully to it. Jesus. The MC isn't even an asshole. We've seen what happens when a person treats him kindly and helpfully. He's responsive. He starts remembering the smaller details about them. ML didn't even try. He had the ultimate golden opportunity to shine and be 'acknowledged' as he so dearly wanted when he met the MC for the gaming project. He even was acknowledged in that moment. The MC was genuinely showing admiration for his abilities. But what ruined that moment? The realization that ML was the guy that was causing the MC so much unneeded grief. It was ML's past behavior that ruined it. It was his own fault.
I'm just sigh. Sorry for the rant. I've been stuck with nothing to do, and I've had an unfortunate run of stories where the MLs are just so not worth the trouble and drama. But they're 'cute.' So who cares. Rme.
Oh! Man, I also felt the classroom scene when he had his seat taken. I legit felt sympathy pain in the moment.
factsssss. I mean, I don't hate the comic it's just that I feel like because it is a comic, some ppl fail to feel the degree of uncomfiness of hoobae's situation. I'll even go out and say, the way the sunbae is following him around, disrupting his everyday life, is fucking creepy. smh
.
And don't get me started on his group mates complaining that they got an F for not cooperating.
Because I can't imagine there being even a single shred of me that would be willing to save those men. Let along feel pity, guilt maybe for the decision itself, but shame, pity, regret? No. I'm pretty sure the monster inside me would even raise its head and decide that what happened to them was poetic justice. But, I suppose that's the point. I'm not a hero, and not everyone is made or willing to be a hero. Heroes as an archetype are self sacrificing and find justice in the moral high ground.
I'm a reader however, and there's a reason I lean toward anti-heroes more than the type displayed here. The female feeling ill and ashamed at not being able to save them... when she was going to be raped and murdered in cold blood... Because to them... it was fun? What a twisted mess of nonsense. The MC isn't going to disagree with her? He's just sad cause he couldn't save everyone? God.
It's too bad though. I liked the MC initially for his danger junkie disposition, and the mask on and off running joke was quite comedic. Well, at least until they started making him out to be a pervert. It's stupid and so low bar, I actually sighed when I read it.
Anyway, I'm being critical. This is an okay read. By far not the worse. I believe I read somewhere that this was adapted from a novel? Maybe there's more character depth there. I do like the concept. I do wish the MC had more time on his own to really develop as a character before he started picking up chicks but whatever.
Lol. Does anyone else just laugh whenever a chapter ends in a well-deserved face slap?
Like boi, I get you're a prince and probably have entitlement issues and enough rose-tinted glasses bought by daddy to last you a lifetime, but really, not even a lick of shame at having attempted murder? Just like-
Attempted Murderer: Hey, dad, sorry. I messed up lol lol. *sends teary eyes*
King Foxy: DISGRACE. *slaps*
The fact that he has not even shown a tad of introspection however has me worried for their country- especially considering how he's the supposed stronger candidate.
Stupid No. 2's lack of character depth either implies the king's a whiny bitch too and is just angry his son got caught, or he's being legit but fell into complacency. The kingdom has been at peace, and it's provided him the opportunity to be a father before he's the emperor and consequently spoiled his kids rotten, the 2nd prince especially. Whose, it seems, color scheme is distinctly different, so he likely looks more like the Queen. If the King loves his Queen very much (suspiciously absent. Dead or at the moment just not important to the story), I can see him favoring the child that looks like her. Incidentally, however also neglecting the third prince who appears to be his spitting image. The third child is too much of a lackey to have not been used to the hand he's been dealt.
Prince Uno has yet to be mentioned though (or has he? It's been awhile). There could still be more left unknown in this family's structure.
Final note- I absolutely love this artist's ability to make beautiful characters feel ugly.
So I can't remember anything of the plot and am very confused at all the revelations ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶ but I am mega entertained right now
Our uke is actually a sex god that has all the boys running to his yard

Uke, once again: as pretty as a disney princessヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ
Conclusion-
This is a magnificent piece of art. It touches upon themes, usually hidden in the darkest corners of our minds; the fantasies we realize, understand to be better left unsaid, unheard, and forsaken.
This author, artists, masters of their skills however have decided to take it upon themselves to shine an acute light on what is unacknowledged. They gave form, a medium; they've given these unfinished ideas a path for them to take to actuality.
They have given us readers... a crime thriller, a romance, a tragicomedy, abs... a... a... gay as fuck soap opera with erotic elements.
Yes. May the god of fertility bless their souls.

There's no way either of the siblings are just regular ol mob characters. They both have a beauty mark on their face. I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE.
