
why is doing drugs such a big deal that it can ruin someones career, drugs are used medically and its not like she killed someone the fuck

Drugs have a huge taboo because of the opium wars. Long story short, the British empire forced Asian countries to consume opium (a heavy drug) and that nearly destroyed their civilisation in one generation. It’s left asian countries « traumatized » and a lot of them have extremely heavy sentences for drug dealing and drug use (long jail times and often death sentence). Not justifying this huge taboo just explaining why there’s one.
i like this a lot, the art is breathtaking, i can see character development, and it also mentions very modern issues. just frustrated that justice wasn't really served and that ugly prick didnt drop out of school and the acne infested ugly bitch didnt get exposed, wouldve loved to see the backlash she wouldve gotten
