This manga has hurt me so many times!! All of the characters have broken my heart from their tragic backstories! I love that the story has made me confused so many times by jumping from one timeline to another. I still have questions though, specially with Shoui and Asari's story.
For Kami's to die: 1) their core must be broken 2) be terminated since they serve no master -- otherwise they may live very long and may be passed down from one master to another.
SO why did Shirahase and Asari die? Is it from wear and tear that their lifespan also decreased? Yet, Asari has regular maintenance but still died.
ALSO, I'm quite confused with Shoui. Did he stopped using Kotodama? Asari refused to go with him because he thought he was useless since Shoui doesn't practice anymore. What does Shoui do now? Who's the current head of the Mitou family?

Hi there, as a big big big fan of Shoui x Asari, let me answer your question ^.^
1. Kami can die from overuse. Asari has served since Rikiichi time and Shoui used lots of kotodama as the Head of the family is more than other members (and Asari served Shoui continuously and heavily in 7 years) so the burden is much for his body even ưith maintainance. That's why he đie.
2. Shoui is officially the Head of the family as stated in the Konoe x Kotoha arc and stated again the Shoui x Adari arc, but he chose to reduce and maybe stop using kotodama (at least in the S x A arc), using "Wish of the family Head) as an order 'cause the wish's Head is absolute. Aside from using kotodama, the Head's job includes assigning work for other kotodamashi, negotiations and other paper work. Well from his portrayal he's kinda like the President of a company now so he has lots to deal with even without working as a kotodamashi.

There are too many plot twists. Holy crap I got dizzy. I've struck another gold. Another story that twists my morals. I like how rape was recognized as rape but then he didn't refuse as they kept going. I loved the denial part on Toyohiko as he clung on the fact he was raped but the contradiction that he is in fact in love. MAN. How could he not? Right amount of smut, romance and twisted plot all in a one shot. Words are not enough to praise Sadahiro-sensei.
Can't forget the plot twists of wife wants to murder husband for insurance money, tries to get new lover to help her, then new lover kills HER instead cause he loves the husband! WOW! A twist on a traditional plot :P

I found a gem!! This is too good. Another yaoi that has everything in it. Mindblowing art, hot af characters, superb screenplay (I don't know what to call that in manga), exellent pacing, sensual scenes, hot af scenes, gore, guns, violence, thriller, romance all thrown in one manga. DANG. I'll be damned if this was turn to a movie. It's so good.
Though, I want to get back to Satoru and Ryou, I think it's important to know the Hal-Sam-Nobu's story. I bet there would be a great impact once the story goes back to the present timeline.

I got to admit though, the story's pretty clever. This took the dark-crazy-twisted plots to another level.
Wow. The plot twist about Maiko was something I didn't expect. I thought she was another victim or something. Her connection to Nii-chan was more surprising for me than Nii-chan's backstory, I'm so used to fucked up stories so it's only natural that such a fucked up character would have such twisted beginnings. Another best from Harada and another chapter update for me that messes up my morals.
Really now?! I thought Yui was going for the revenge route but seems like it's not. BUT I feel sort of happy that he didn't throw Kei away since he's had a tough life after his relationship with Maiko's father ended. So what should have happened with Kei? Was it better if the relationship continued? Because it was more fucked after it ended. Should Yui stay? He is obviously "trained" to feel that way for Kei. BUT KEI IS JUST ANOTHER VICTIM and he has been living that way for more than 10 years. This story reminds me of Ogawa's Kusatta Rasen, the victim creates another victim.
Akitora is hot AF!!! There's so much chemistry between Rogi and Aki it's insane, it's jumping out of the pages. For some reason, the story's pretty psychological, I mean I still don't understand what attracted them to each other, specially Aki to Rogi. Also, knowing that Rogi and Aki won't be ending up together, WHY THE HELL AM I STILL READING THIS?! I'M A TOTAL M.
