i think it was fucking stupid of them to not report the teacher. attempted rape is still rape the only difference is that it was unsuccesful. i feel bad for the people who have those kind of urges and are too scared of people's reactions to get help and stuff but if they actually try to harm children they can just rot in hell no way i'm pitying them. they had no way of knowing if he'd go hurt another boy yet they just let him off like that

I get what ur saying, but victims of rape/sexual assault usually find it hard to report for a variety of reasons. Firstly, yanagida himself is respected in the community, so even if they reported him there might be chances that it would backlash. Secondly, victims usually have to describe the whole traumatising story to the authorities, which in itself is a mentally exhausting & traumatising process.
It may seem like a stupid move, but can you really blame these scared, confused teens to not report? I dont think so.

that does make sense but who else is gonna report it? his next victim? there were two other witnessess so I don't think he'll have to worry about people believing him. also in this case it felt more like pity on mishima's side rather than fear which disappointed me a bit.
everything was portrayed really well like transphobia, homophobia, bullying etc. but that one part about the teacher was weird like they were trying to say "oh he went through this and that hardship because he was a pedophile so he couldn't help but attack mishima he's also a victim" which is 'partly' true since he couldn't help his attraction to children and i think pedophiles (NOT CHILD MOLESTERS) immediately getting rejected by society once people find out about it is a problem that needs to be addressed but it's all over once they actually go and hurt children. that's a red line for me and i don't believe they can get redeemed after that.
girl i don't want any secondhand embarrasment please just say it normally
