AND THE ROMANCE LEAD OPTIONS. there’s the prince, the heir to the dukedom, the wizard, the knight, all of them are just GUYS who do guy stuff like hold a sword or do paperwork but the wizard can shoot lasers why is he never end game??
There’s so many interpretations too. Sometimes there’s priests who by our definition is a wizard or mage but their magic is considered differently because it’s more holy (I still count it count it as magical). Sometimes the wizards are soldiers, sometimes they’re researchers.
So basically I wanted recommendations where a) the female lead becomes a wizard-esque character and goes deep magic shit or b) the male lead is a wizard esque character (and he’s end game!) or c) IF ITS OUT THERE they’re both wizards and go off and do wizardly stuff together
Ik ppl say she’s immature and selfish and they’re not wrong, but I really liked reading about a more selfish fl whose strongest instinct is self preservation over anything else. U could say she’s stringing people along but no one around her is unaware of what she’s like and what she wants from them, and maybe even taking advantage of that. They, like her, are also unable do what’s healthy for them and move on because they were so important to each other when they were young and vulnerable. The part where she says something like “I can’t go forward and I can’t go back so I’ll just stay where I am like I always have” like oof I actually felt that one so bad. It’s a more shallow comic but it’s moments of depth rlly punch a pack.

I feel very sad in this kind of discriminatory world where even if the main character achieve happiness, I know the world is still bad so it makes me upset.

Usually a very short inserted sad backstory doesn’t make me feel emotional (there has to be a longer build up) but the scene where he’s all beaten up and he sees his half sister so preciously taken care of and his mom chooses to ignore him is so saddd
I feel like because his mom abandoned him he also abandoned himself. he’s selfish and not very good but not that bad either, he’s not without empathy so I hope he can improve himself and find his own happiness
