The beta is hurting both himself and the alpha by letting himself get walked all over. I mean, the alpha really cherished him before the accident, enough to risk his own life. Imagine how he’ll feel if he ever recovers knowing how bad he treated the beta (and I have a feeling it’ll get a lot worse).
