About Lizzie, I don’t think it is much simping over a corpse but rather feeling very betrayed. She is a kid who only knows that she is supposed to dote, care and love her fiancé and dude has been lying to her for like nearly 3 years. The ciel she has learned to love since she was a child and played with and everything wasn’t the one she has been facing for a while. Anyone would be taken aback and resentful.
About the police and everyone being oblivious, well this is supposed to be 1889. High positions like that of queen’s watchdog which is passed from parent to child and well known Earl can’t just be usurped by others and then expected to be pardoned once caught.
Why wouldn’t the police believe the ACTUAL Ciel Phantomhive and believe his brother ? (It looks like a typical get rid of brother to take his spot situation), and the police was never portrayed as particularly sharp in here.
Nobody knows that real ciel is a corpse because he used a half true half lie reason. No one is investigating what happened to real ciel yet, they just take it as it is and believe that fake ciel has a plausible motive for lying about his identity. He is a younger sibling who would not have inherited everything if Real ciel was there. The motive is envy, and they believe that. And as far as I understand the story, I think it is all logical. So unless somebody gets to hear fake Ciel's side properly, lile abberline maybe, and unless evidence is found that ciel is a corpse, then no one would believe fake ciel.
Agree with Gamakero-kun's comment that no one knows real ciel is a corpse! And just wanna add: they all just thought he went away somewhere and is now coming back to reclaim his title. And they also thought it was strange why fake ciel would pretend to be real ciel, cuz if real ciel died his little bro would inherit the title anyway, so they aren't really arresting him for fraud. BUT all the evidence of the blood-stealing case points towards fake ciel, so if all the evidence is there ofc they're gonna have to arrest him. Plus, in chapter 143 Abberline wanted to defend fake ciel but said that "ordinary policemen are not allowed to know of the existence of the queen's watchdog."

No, it's still ongoing. The chapter before this latest one also says "owari" at the end. The thing is, all of the chapters, except the last 2, are the official english translation. The last 2 chapters, I think, was translated by a group or individual.
