If you actually think about his behavior and age, it all coincides. He doesnt have to be a self realized person cause he is at the stage of learning as a teen. I can make sense of Jiho's feelings bcuz he is a teen.
Hes prideful, arrogant, impulsive, awkward, selfish and coming of age and into terms of being attracted to guys. He never met anyone like Yoojoon and Yoojoon entered his life when he needed someone the most even with what we see and know we are still getting to know these boys. We are now seeing a more thoughtful and interested Jiho a bit and I like what the author is doing and how they are introducing it all.
