Will save this hellfire of a relationship lmao. I think this is one of the many yaoi couples where I don't see their relationship working out after the end of the series unless Chunwoo becomes less selfish and more self aware of his actions.

Literally. Never agreed so much with someone before. Chunwoo is the epitome of toxicity. He’s been toxic even before being with Ho-in. And now Ho-in has gotten toxic, I can’t even remember the sweet him.
He says he trust Chunwoo but chunwoo honestly hasn’t earned the trust nor should he with how he’s behaving.

Ho-In is too blinded by his feelings to reflect on his own words. With the fiasco that happened between him and his bff, it was so obvious how he doesn't trust Chunwoo and for a good reason! I just wish he'll acknowledge it but since were already on the side stories, it won't likely happen.
Honestly, I think it's not a reach to say that if this webtoon were a dark romance like pearl boy or pawns revenge, Ho-In would definitely accidentally kill someone out of rage just because of a stupid scheme Chunwoo concocts just to get what he wants from Ho-In.

Reminded me of Vassalord and that sexy vampire and his beloved priest. It feels sad to be nostalgic at 2:04 am.

Oh I remember Ai no Kusabi! It was my first yaoi anime where both the mc and love interest died. :'((((
Ah, hearing you mention the old yaoi animes made me feel nostalgic again. You know what would make a good bl anime series even when it's an old story? Doukyuusei! The manga really covered their journey as youngsters to adulthood so well. I would give my soul to see the story have an anime adaptation.

Ai no kusabi is mine also first yaoi it was this introduced me to yaoi this is the only anime made me feel that that's how love between men are beautiful sacrifices and bittersweet but they deserve happiness I tried watching doukyuusie but never got into it cuz I was young and I love older relationships but one day i would give it a try , there are many good mangas that needs to get animated I hope one day ai no kusabi 2012 continues before I die.

I can't really say if it was love that tied the mc to the love interest in ai no kusabi. My memories of the OVA is vague since I haven't seen it for years but I remember their relationship being volatile and toxic.
Also, the story was really too short so their relationship was not explored fully at least for me. If it does get adapted, it's a good opportunity to understand their dynamics more.
Please do try doukyuusei! It's a really cute bl! But the manga explores more serious themes. They had so much ups and downs and it was a painfully sweet and heartbreaking ride that concluded with a happy ending! If you want some tasty angst, it's a good one.

Communicating with his partner. Making your bf jealous through fake cheating when you had a history of cheating is definitely a choice and a bad one at that. Woojin almost sacrificed his life for this shenanigans too lmao. If it wasn't presented in a light-hearted manner, I think Ho-In would have fucked him up for real.
Bro mgg is so glitchy. It erased the things I've written after the first paragraph when I placed an emoji.
So let me just insert my rewrite here:
Also, aren't side stories supposed to be the time to wrap up shit and a room for more fluffy stories, not opening old wounds and raising red flags?

As that librarian once. I accidentally came across two guys kissing, trying to conceal themselves on tall shrubs along the the office building I worked in. I hope I was convincing enough in acting like I didn't notice them since I got my earphones on. Needless to say, it was an embarassing moment for both parties.
Sweet and devoted love interest is wasted on a story like this.
FR IT COULD WORK WITHOUT SMUT TO
