"Ronia is the bad guy"
"I know her better than anyone else"
"Why is everyone upset with me"
"Ronia is to blame"
If he really knew Ronia better than anyone else then wouldn't he know how unlikely it is for her to bully someone? Instead, rather than confirming it, he believed some rando and people who harassed her and were trying to deflect blame. Genius. Truly.

Granted, a lot of things can change in 14 years. Even if she was mute as a child, she could've recovered and maybe her family didn't want to pressure her into talking about it or anything (since it's usually such a delicate topic). I do get the feeling that they aren't her blood-related family though for some reason...

She did recover! It was caused by psychological trauma so with the right help and support system she was able to overcome it and slowly go back to her original self. Now she's one of the most talkative and outgoing people I know. Most people would never guess that she was ever mute because of how extroverted she is. I used to know sign language but it's one of those 'lose if you don't use' type things.
Love the attention to detail! The author could've completely erased Heshe's scar due to the makeup but instead they made it so his scar was just barely visible. It makes me love and appreciate this story even more (▰˘◡˘▰)
