The problem is not depicting rape in itself, but doing it in exploitative ways, or conflating it with acts of romance and love. Countless abusive relationship in real life share features common in romance stories (gay or hetero). It's not only forced intercourse, it often comes bundled with irrational jealousy, possessiveness, controlling behavior ......   reply
