I’ve only read chapter one, but why wouldn’t she just live quietly until the girl gets adopted? Her engagement would be naturally ended as it’ll go on to the other girl, and she could just say she wants to go on vacation to a villa somewhere far away since she wouldn’t need to do anything anymore. They always make it such a complicated process for something that can easily be solved, though I guess that makes more content for the story. So repetitive though.

I can’t even express with words how this makes me feel like, I know every religion has different morals and rules but it makes me so sad to think about how many people, like Chloe, gave up their (modern world) dreams to be with the people they love :( and for the people who decide to go with their dreams, they have to give up even seeing the people they love and grew up with!! I respect Amish people and their beliefs, and I’m sure they are truly very happy, but I will always dislike how their way of life is so restrictive/sheltered
