Yes great we now are moving forward slightly with how things have been revealed but seriously? The author is continuing her "special" next week? Don't get me wrong, the author can definitely do whatever she wants but am I the only one getting more frustrated as it seems to be her way of dragging the story further more? Like she could do the special AFTER the entire story has folded but instead decided to do it NOW when there's cliffhanger after cliffhanger. People already weren't happy when this story was dragging all this time and she wants to sprinkle in some reverse story special to distract us...sigh* She's got a tactic...that's for sure. One would think you would focus on your main story when its lacking a lot of substance rather than focus on a SIDE story.

Although this story wasn't as fleshed out as the others (not that the others were that fleshed out either), I preferred this couple WAY more in terms of dynamic and character personality. It just didn't feel like the author's usual semes who are super experienced, blonde, delinquent types. Her other works featured semes who were more nonchalant and unclear about their feelings while in this one, they're more clear for both characters but not very well conveyed to each other. However I thought at chapter 6, it initially said its "ongoing" but now its COMPLETED?!?!? Sort of disappointed that the author didn't extend the story to further build on their relationship, communication skills, and individual character growth.

So many people are insulting those who "complained" about the story but that is what a comment section is for.....for expressing opinions about the story regardless of having paid for it or not. Some saying "You knew from chapter one...". Oh how wrong this comment is. Nobody knows what will happen next in the story..,that's the whole point of reading it. Some people seem to not know how the real world works... negative comments or opinions are allowed to exist and be welcomed for further discussion. People can form negative opinions and to those who say they can't well...welcome to the real world. It is absolutely ridiculous that these people are telling others, they can't say anything bad about the story. Anybody can form an opinion....particularly a negative opinion... on any piece of work. Just because the author put in hard work, doesn't mean it automatically deserves praise. The end product actually has to be good objectively. Right now the story is going nowhere...and that is a fact. She looped it back around to the beginning where Seungho is raping Nakyum and almost every chapter is still sex/rape.

Or rather don't judge a book by its ratings. One of the worst manhwa that has perfected the art of fooling the audience into rating it highly. Actually author isn't that smart, more like too many underage readers who don't have the ability to deconstruct and reflect on multiple terrible aspects of this manhwa. Despite its high rating, the manhwa objectively is very very abhorrent. Started out with potential and decent art and then went super downhill from the middle to the end. From dragging the plot for multiple chapters to making characters deplorable to glossing over major issues....Very surprised that around this time, many comments praise the work when at the time it was finished, most readers realized it for what it was....complete utter garbage. A disgrace to be rated as highly as other actually good manhwas/manhuas.

I do like the earlier chp, but when they just keep dragging the story and make it more drama I'm just done and stop reading it then when it's complete i just read the ending. Lol ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭. I never judge manga in mangago from the ranting, i always check the comments because most of the comments were more specific in detailing the story

This manhua was overall a pretty good one, with more realistic approaches to romance, very nice art, and decent development of main characters and plotline. Realistic approaches and not an overly dramatic approach was this manhua's advantage.
However, I would not classify this as a masterpiece because of a few things.
1. Pacing
For one, the pacing is meh with the author focusing entirely too much on irrelevant scenes and very little dialogue in one chapter. Sure not bad when one is reading through after it is finished but while it was pushed out weekly, the bad pacing was evident. Some or rather a lot of chapters went from point A to point A. For example, it would start with the main character planning to talk to somebody, meeting them, saying a few words and then boom cliffhanger when nothing has happened... Many times she would end the chapter with no substance and even end it as a cliffhanger when it didn't classify as a cliffhanger.
2. Realistic?
People tend to really overhype a piece of work if it slightly deviates from usual tropes and stereotypes. The other thing was there were quite a few stereotypical plotlines but its not always a bad thing. It's just I see so many praise the manhua for being realistic without being cliche when there were many cliche and stereotypical aspects. For example, "meeting each other as childhood friends", "don't want to be with you bc you'll be discriminated against", "meeting you when I'm older and then we work out as a couple (Red head and uncle)", etc.
3. Side characters
One major flaw were the side characters as the author did not seem to know what to do with them and inserted or developed them with poor timing. Side characters were pretty useless except for giving audiences a bit of fresh air from the main couple. She did not bring them in earlier in the story and instead inserted them right when the main couple had major issues which was bad timing. Most people cared about the characters bc they were cute or had relatable struggles but in general, they wouldn't and shouldn't evoke much emotion from the audience due to lack of development and screen time. i.e. "I don't know much if anything about this side character and she expects us to care for them greatly", which is a flaw. One major hint of the not so decent side characters were the fact that most readers didn't even remember their names and only referred to them by their hair color.
4. Lack of development for main characters and only scraping the surface of complex issues
Main characters STILL did not get enough development in terms of their dynamic with each other AFTER they got together and that is also due to the fact that author chose to use that time to allocate for the side characters. There was slight emphasis on Huan's sexual inexperience but she didn't or couldn't delve into that and the lack of approval from Yuyang's parents which were glossed over, etc. The misunderstanding in their relationship was just Huan forgetting Yuyang's bd and hiding the fact that he was sick which was a miscommunication problem that could have been developed more and used to show their dynamic as a couple. Instead she just chalked it up to them having an almost perfect relationship without them explicitly communicating and whatnot.
Despite the flaws, I still enjoyed the manhua and thought it was decent. I would've liked her to still focus more on the couple and develop their relationship more but she really didn't do that, which is probably why she dragged the misunderstanding and unrequited love part so long as after they got together, not much happened. She didn't dive into the topics deeply and only scraped the surface. Topics about acceptance, relationship struggles, etc. and sort of glossed over it quite quickly with just showing family members or friends accepting it easily. Still a manhua I would prob re-read.

Usually, I'm the type to be very immersed and attached to my characters but damn....this was atrocious. Alpha had not redeeming qualities and I was asking myself, are we supposed to like the alpha who is our main character? He's disgusting, deplorable, --I have almost no words. He's a dick. Questionable from the very start, this seme has committed every crime under the sun.... rape, rape of a minor, verbal, physical, sexual abuse. He's just a terrible human being and not surprised our omega falls for him and stays with him at the end. My question to the author is who TF is your editor?!?! DID THEY TELL YOU IT WAS SHIT? Forget the editor, the author is so far up his/her own ass, that they think this shit was anywhere near good. I sound angry but I really am not. Just stating facts here.... I did not find myself too upset because how could I be when there was no hope to begin with. I just felt empty.

Based on previous manhwas with worst or terrible plots as they go along, I'm surprised people have such a reaction to this one. Usually people still praise works while they drag on the plot and get repetitive. However, I agree, its getting repetitive and dragging a lot. We GET IT. Jesus, he's mad and upset with Nakyum, rightfully so but still go with another plot author. We're at chapter 64 and we still haven't had much change in the characters...I'm pretty sure its going to be a cliche plotline so why is she even dragging this? Like we KNOW he's going to end up with Seungho so just get to the point or at least move the plot.
I mean this manhwa is decent but by no means amazing. I don't understand why korean manhwas a lot of the time have such boring plot devices like Felix being so dumb to not realize he slept with Isaac before, that he's an omega, and that the son is his? Like how dumb can you be for being the "most powerful alpha" and one of the rich leaders of a gang(?). If the author is using this to keep it mysterious...its a poor choice bc the entire audience KNEW from the beginning that the son was his. The only semi mystery is why these people are chasing him but its not really all that compelling? It's pretty generic with Isaac having hidden some "docs" from the antagonist and now must retrieve them. Like you would think the author would by now delve into their pasts and what exactly Isaac AND Felix were doing 4 or however many years ago it was. Its just a lot of fucking and a lot of "I'm hiding my past" and "I'm trying to find out your past" for 30 chapters going NOWHERE. We didn't really gain any new info along the chapters so...
Sort of tired of manhwas gaining traction for shitty or at the most mediocre writing/story and pretty art. ahem* "Black Mirror" ( comparing to this story: again it's this stupid secret that has taken forever to find out, a bunch of sex, and the secret isn't THAT compelling nor are the characters that likeable) It's almost as if these authors are trying to pull a major twist in the story to shock viewers.
I see where you're coming from, but I think the plot definitely gets more complex, based on a spoiler I saw in Novelupdates:
"Four years ago Felix found an omega and became distracted, the omega that tied him and broke his arm which caused Felix to be caught by the enemy, which lead to him getting kidnapped and tortured for days. Felix hadn't been the same after that, his behavior became errated, that was the reason why he was so extremely violent and unpredictable, the reason why he couldn't remember Isaac. His memories where mixed, unreliable as he was severely injured."
Ok it does seem it gets a bit more complex based on that but you gotta admit...we're at chapter 30 and there is almost no indication of their past lives or what happened in the past to have altered their life significantly. Sure in that quote, it says Felix has never been the same after that but the story takes on a very upbeat, comedic, cheer-y tone throughout the entire 29 episodes and I have not seen anything remotely dark or complex about it. The thing is the author needs to work her way up to things and so far she hasn't laid the groundwork for Felix's "traumatic experience" at all. May I ask if even Isaac knows who Felix is? If he doesn't well damn (not in a good way). For an author to take a spin on the omegaverse genre she should've laid down the rules and how HER omegaverse works bc it seems Felix does not at all realize Isaac's an omega even tho they've been fucking for over 20 chapters.
In one chapter, Isaac mentions about never getting his heat ever again since 4 years ago. Like ummm HELLO? Author? Y--you there? You gonna explain ANYTHING in 29 chapters or they just gonna fuck with sparks flying around. There's no inner dialogue explaining their thoughts much or about what's happening. Half the time, they're taking strolls and vacations while people are supposedly hunting Isaac. Where are the stakes in this story? Where is the urgency? The supposed danger around the corner that could harm Benjamin? Where's Felix's traumatic past or if it wasn't traumatic but it changed him, where are the remnants of that? It looks to me he's completely fine and hasn't thought about what happened 4 years ago as if it never happened. Also if these 29 chapters were to develop their bond together, there is legit no indication of any chemistry going on here besides the sex with sparks. Isaac looks to be unbothered by anything and everything even about the supposed harm at "every corner" and Felix.
I mean I'm just here wondering why people praise this so much. Sure it's pretty and enjoyable through the many MANY sex scenes but for the story? Yea still looking for that.
The manhwa is not as detailed as the novel but both are great. It didnt feel lacking in plot so idk maybe you should read the novel (⌒▽⌒)
To be fair, this is not too bad compared to some other more popular manhwa. While the plot is not amazing, at least it has one. There are a lot of really popular manhwa that is 90 percent smut and 10 percent everything else. It is obvious that is what people are looking for in Yaoi. Those who want better plot shouldn't be looking at Yaoi.
Thar's not completely true as I've seen quite a few yaoi mangas/manhwas do very well with both plot and sex/smut. Your statement of that we should not be looking for plot in yaoi is not a good perspective as any work that aims to make a story should have at least plot points or more substance. I wouldn't lower my expectations JUST bc its yaoi. I'm not "expecting" too much from this as its ADAPTED from a NOVEL and the fact that it sells itself as a manhwa WITH a plot and story. It's sold and marketed as if there's more to it when most of the time its sex. A lot of yaoi that doesn't have much plot isn't bad in itself bc they don't try to be something they're not. They clearly show throughout their panels and storytelling that you're just getting smut and a small sliver of a story. Like I said THIS on the other hand sells itself to be a in depth and complex story but turns out to not do much to further that story.
I'm not very into reading the novel of a manga/manhwa usually bc the manga has visuals and feels shorter/ more concise. I think it doesn't feel lacking in plot WHEN you don't think about the plot/story at all. In fact only when I thought about why this wasn't THAT good did I think and realize the plot is very mediocre.
Pray tell, which amazing plot you have seen before from Yaoi before? I'm curious. Give me some recommendation. I would love to read them.
By the way, I am not saying you should lower your standard. I am saying judging by the top most popular Yaoi in this site, it is clear that is not what people are reading Yaoi for. Perhaps you should realize that you are in the minority, and that is fine, coz I prefer something with substance as well. I just happen to think they are insanely rare.
Well that's true. It is less common but I wouldn't say that should stop anyone from criticizing the manga/manhwa.
Well I wouldn't say they were AMAZING but some have a good balance between sex and plot and some I just really liked the plot or general concept and it was done well(in general) but of course that is just in my opinion.
