What happend to the ML sounds like a common story for noblewomen that get married off at a young age. The awkward part is that now that he's an adult, and fully king, he can set some of his own boundaries. Which is good for him! But so far its only caused him to hurt others, like his daughter and even his new wife in a way. I'm not sure how things would work if he was a she. Sure society caused him to marry again, but if the genders were flipped he'd probably be assulted repeatedly until a son was born.
This is kinda reminding me of The Flower dances and the Wind sings. The FL wasn't raped like the ML in this story. But she did have a kid at a very young age as well as loose her father. Depression because of the death of her father, combined with loneliness because of how busy her new husband became. Further compounded by post partum depression led to her neglecting her child. But being a woman she seemed to get pushback for her negligence. So far it's obvious that the ML in this story remarried in order to get the nobles off his back. But no one outside of the palace seems to care about his daughter, they just want him to have a son.
