I knew the spoilers. He still behaved badly. To original Abagail and to new Abagail. I don't say that to absolve original Abagail of blame. Or to make it seem like the King's trauma is meaningless. Not even trying to make it all the kings fault, though I know some of y'all are gonna respond as if that is what I mean...really read first please. But Original Abagail was told that he would never touch her AFTER their wedding and then was left with no explanation as to why. And yet he was shocked this chapter to hear that New Abagail thinks he hates her. What was he expecting anyone to feel?
He doesn't know about the soul swap, but at the start New Abagail had Original Abagail's memories and that was enough to give New Abagail a negative impression of him. From the beginning in the second chapter, this is what New Abagail internal dialouge says when the ML is introduced. "If I were to talk about this man-Nergan Kingdom's King, Blanche's father and Abagail's husband-Saviron Friedkin. To summarize, he's really good looking trash. And then she goes on to explain how from the start the King ignored his new wife and that's what started the trend of his new wife acting out.
At least now new Abagail knows why he's so cold to his family so things can progress. I am not sure if the relationship with original Abagail could have been salvaged. But I do have to wonder. Since Original Abagail's pride was wounded by him not touching her, would she feel better to know that he can't touch any woman at all?? Honesty I am of the opinion that the King and original Abagail's induvial issues make them the worst match. So I understand why he never told her AFTER the wedding. She behaved too badly to earn his trust. It is BEFORE the wedding that I am wondering about.
Perhaps he shouldn't have gotten remarried at all. Since all he did was distance himself from his new wife because of this trauma, but at the same time never was gonna explain why, why bother?? Original Abagail died without out knowing if there was anything she could have done to make her husband want her. She was told by that husband to live like she doesn't exist. We have seen what that attitude does to more timid women, they waste away in some separate palace and die is solitude because even the servants stop interacting with them(and then truck kun hits someone in our world and the lady gets a new start). Original Abagail is not timid at all so she externalized her pain and turned it onto the servants and Blanche. So for that twist at least, thanks author.
No really, unless a woman knew from the start that it would be hard to even dance with her new husband why would she enter a marriage with him? She'd have to already be in love with him and just want to be by his side first, which isn't always possible with a political marriage like his and Original Abagail's was. Or she'd have be okay with no physical contact and the possibility of producing no heirs. (Which with the amount of contract marriage stories we've all read, maybe such a thing is possible. lol.)

How the fuck has he just never told her about the impossibility of pregnancy? I know they don't talk, but god damn. I shouldn't be surprised, this fucker is getting half his money stolen because he never checked the books when it came to the money he gave the FL. He's stupid enough to think that a princess just like dressing plainly?? Bitch please, I'd bet no other noble he's meet in business meetings does that.
I know he's been through a lot but in order to take this level of drama seriously I'd have to belive that he is not nurotypical. No way he is well adjusted enough to be that rich but has no people skills. Like that is the most charitable explanation. All his smarts are somehow business smarts and he just sucks at interpersonal relationships is what we are to belive because of his childhood.....
Or he just hates her and needs to fucking admit it. That he veiws her being married to him as a punishment. And based on what he said to her in the first part of this chapter I'm beginning to think that's what it is. He hates this marriage and or her because of her brother's trick. And instead of facing up to it he'd rather ignore it. He just repressed a lot of shit and now his nastyness has risen to the surface. He is just too emotionally closed off to notice his own hatred. He could just let the marriage go but he'd rather they both be miserable.

But she don't like you bro.
Also maybe you'd have better luck if you actually confessed instead of just commanding she visit you? You are the one that thinks she must like you because you are the king, but she has shown no such inclination. All you are doing is making her hate you more. Just be fucking normal and ask the girl on a date. If she turns you down then oh well.

That every man she's met up until him has either tired to rape her or like that green haired dude, tried to rape her and also he did sell her. Also her one and only Korean friend did tell her about how she was sold after going to a hotel.
They can't properly communicate and she is just super freaked out for understandable reasons. I wish she could just trust him. This is such a long haul.

But she trusted him so much at first.... If what's happening now is normal, then the first chapters are illogical.
If the first chapters are normal because she felt he was different, then what's happening now is illogical. You can't have both (doubting okay, trying to kill him.... BRUH. Even now she's starting to realize she made a mistake, but her thoughts are weird.. Not just stupid, weird and illogical. It's just bad writing it's this point)
My opinion of the king has not changed. But then my opinion of the king was formed even knowing the spoilers about his rape.
The king is lucky as fuck that the reincarnation happened. So is Blanche. We saw what happend without communication with the original Abigail. He got remarried without thinking of how it would impact his new wife or daughter. He obviously didn't think much beyond a political arrangement and settled for Original Abigail. Obviously didn't consider personality type or temperament. And in the end tragedy beget tragedy.
Now he has a wife with a modern mindset. But he stumbled upon that reality. If Original Abigail hadn't died she'd still be abusing Blanche out of anger since her husband ignores her.
But let the therapy begin I guess. I can't remember if it was this story or another one that one of us had the brilliant idea of a isekai where a therapist jumped from story to story. Fixed the ML's and then left before the ML caught feelings.
I don’t know your opinion of the King, but he’s a good guy though even if the queen didn’t reincarnate he still didn’t know what to do. After all he was forced to do something he didn’t want to do and wasn’t ready for this goes for many things. It’s like how the mc is super childish due to her upbringing. So honestly mental health should be taken more seriously.
