Holy cow. The tension and emotion in this chapter is so cathartic, it’s been building up for so long! I don’t think Yuwon is gonna get what he wants though. Dohoon is most likely just trying to placate him until he actually breaks and lets Dohoon do whatever without protest.
Yuwon is really close to snapping rn. If Dohoon answers wrong i won’t be surprised if he tries to off himself.
Poor Yuwon needs to gtfo, get distance, recalibrate (figure out truth from lies) and meet normal people, to remind him there’s more than this hole Dohoon put him in.
My god, Dohoon literally led this man to psychosis. That last chapter cliffhanger was so cruel; for him to hope only to realize it was him hallucinating.
But What a good read!!!!! This comic is the first thing i check when i look at new updates.
So maybe A ran away because he was noticing the changes in himself; and tried to get little A to take over because if people knew he was a hybrid, they’d take the farm away from him.
I wonder if he was looking for a drug to slowly reverse the effects or something?
He doesn’t seem the type to look away or be ok with people suffering.

Seems like after years of the psychological torment in watching people being turned into livestock and treated like... well... animals, he became unstable, but when he realized HE was trarting to turn as well-...! I suppose that was the straw that broke the camels back.
He just ran away, as far as he could (as we can see in ch12) not even stopping to think of the consequences and meaning of his disappearance, just figuring they'd find someone to replace him.
But once he hears little A is the replacement, he's going to come back and beg him to escape with him before he starts turning too, (which Lil A is going to refuse because he's come to care for these PEOPLE, not livestock, PEOPLE).

I still find it a bit weird that after all this time A was still in the same town (the bus driver is the same as chap 1). I guess I don’t know enough about A’s motives to tell.

I’m so glad I found this story. It’s just such a good depiction of control in abusive relationships.
First, the people, then the house, the clothes, then work, until the victim is so completely isolated they can only rely on the abuser. Props to Yuwon recognizing it’s not normal and pushing back a bit towards the behaviour.
Dohoon is perfectly content having Yuwon desperate, thinking only of him and obsessing over the state of their relationship, knowing he has a tendency to blame himself. This is his “ideal state” for Yuwon, at his disposal.
And since the victim “belongs” to them; once acquired, the interest is lost. Abuse happens when “the TV isn’t working properly” (unwanted thoughts, feelings and actions by the victim) i.e Dohoon feels he needs to “fix” Yuwon.
Depending on how interactions go, I imagine we’ll see a complete 180 in attitude and Dohoon going back into “interested boyfriend” until this obstacle is dealt with. Unfortunately the relationship is beyond saving at this point; nothing Yuwon has done so far has convinced or changed Dohoon.
The more he obsesses over the relationship, the less Dohoon will give. The only way out would be take some measure of control back (attempt an honest conversation, go apartment hunting, look for a new job since Seongmin’s gone, resist becoming a “decorative houseplant”).
But i feel like Yuwon is not in the right mindspace to do so, since he’s so convinced his relationship with Dohoon is the only thing that still makes him Yuwon.
I foresee either a breaking point, where Yuwon realizes he can’t see the exit anymore and tries to find it, Dohoon realizing Yuwon might die or the relationship just smothering out Yuwon until he is basically as good as dead.

The author’s paneling and slight thriller elements make the suspense and tension palpable.Very bleak and cynical mood. The only colour was when Yuwon was spending time with Seongmin…

The abuser also catching feelings, internalized homophobia?? (tries to feel superior by treating MC as lower, gets caught off guard by MC switching the dynamic, overcompensates with violence to avoid his feelings) maybe heading into lima syndrome at the same time is pretty cool.
I feel like MC is so adaptable, that abuser can’t deal with him anymore and will let him free. And MC will either chase that high elsewhere, go back to abuser or go Yuno Gasai on this bitch and give him a taste of his medecine lolololol (Because if MC believes receiving violence is how one is loved, then reciprocating must also be an act of love)
