She's so oblivious (ノಥ,_｣ಥ)ノ彡┻━┻ but I can't really fault her for that cuz she's never been loved. From her point of view, his worry and concern doesn't make sense. I mean, even her own family, people who shares her blood, never showed such genuine emotions for her before.
I don't get how some of you didn't factor in the trauma and abuse she suffered. I thought, with the way Cedric kept fussing over her disregard of herself, everyone will be aware that it's not normal behaviour. Let the poor girl heal. I want her to love herself first before anything else, and I know Cedric wants that as well, I'm sure he can wait. Just enjoy the slow burn guys, no need to be impatient. It's progressing quite nicely, I bet the next chapter will accelerate the pace a bit.
I actually like the fact that the fl is oblivious to what's happening behind the scenes. Cuz if you think about it, there's no reason for them to suddenly be good and kind especially to other people. They only like the fl. Who cares about anybody else?

I'm hoping for some character development right now! Admit your mistakes and just let Raelle go, geez also reflect if you really love her cuz boi it doesn't seem like it.
I still think he might have tried to protect Raelle from the emperor by downplaying his feelings for her by publicly cheating - but even if that really was the case, in my opinion there is never an excuse for cheating.
And even if he didn't cheat for real and was only pretending, that was not the right course of action. Sure, Raelle isn't as sly as Yunifer, maybe she wouldn't have seen another solution, but at least she would not have been so hurt if he had told her.
Either way, he's not a reliable partner for anyone, neither for his lover nor for his friend. He's not a good prospective ruler, didn't you want a someone sane? And he's a ferocious nutcase. Though I we can say it was the emperor who made him that way ╮(￣へ￣)╭

The emperor is trying so hard to heal from his trauma and I'm so glad he's taking it one step at a time. He's healing. It doesn't matter if he's still scared to dance with a grown woman but the fact that he went to that room and decided to try and overcome his fear is so fcking admirable. He wants to be better. God, I hope he can recover, not just for the sake of this story but for his own well-being as well. I admit, I have a soft spot for these type of characters, it's why I like fanfiction so much, the authors address their traumas and lead them to a path of love and recovery. It makes me cry when they get to have a happy life.
