Yes yes yes character development yes.
It's just that childhood trauma + not knowing the warmth of family love turned him into the cold sadistic creature with too many defensive and offensive mechanisms. His nerves report love to his brain but his clueless brain translated it as something alien and dangerous. He just needed to see what being loved feel like.
For him, being raped was more shameful than anything. And the way they qre gonna revealed that in front of an audience disgusts me. All of them disgusts me.
Revealing the rape would the quickest way for Seth to prove the mitigating circumstance that he needs to prove in be able to save himself from getting his soul destroyed, as it proves why it's plausible why Seth would have been so desperately scared of Osiris that he'd even resort to commiting the very crime he might get destroyed for (which is the crushing of human souls just to create the very only weapon that might have worked against an undead like Osiris). To prove why he was so desperate to protect himself from the dead Osiris, enough to commit such a serious crime just to create that one weapon, Seth would have to reveal the rape in to show the real extent of Osiris' harassment and obsession with him, which would in order prove why he had a legitimate reason for becoming desperate and thinking that an already dead Osiris would keep being such a serious threat to him, even from the afterlife...
It is actually a reference of what actually happened in the real Mythology, when Seth had sex with Horus then bring him in front of the Ennead to humiliate Horus who had received him.
Little did he knew that Horus actually prevent Seth from ejaculating in him by catching the semen in his hands, and after telling the whole story to his mother, she cut her sons hands, then collected his seeds to unknowingly make Seth ingest them.
So when Seth asks basically "summon" the semen he had left in Horus, the semen was not where it was supposed to be (Isis was keeping it with her and then deposed it at his feet), but when Horus asked the same for Seth, it was reveal that Seth had been impregnated. A golden disk appeared on his forehead, resulting in Seth utter humiliation in front of the whole Ennead.
Yes, I know that. I was just mentioning how this part of the story on how Seth his humiliated in front of the Ennead, is actually rooted to the original mythology. I was just drawing a parallel that is all.
Your comment was: I can't believe they want to reveal something so shameful. Well, unfortunately even in the original myth, they humiliate him pretty bad. It is kinda a constant for Seth's Arc, saddly.

Ppl hating on the couple without reading the novel...
