The lil details are so amazing, and actually, Eric is a unique ML. To me, at least. I’ve read quite a few historical manhwa but they’re never as “on hands” as he is, y’know what I mean? Sure, a lot of them are green flags and protective towards the mc but doesn’t care for them to this extent. I hope that makes sense. I can list a lot of things that sets him apart from the usual ML tropes
Eric:
- Didn’t harbor any hatred nor was hostile towards Miesa in their first meeting.
- Was VERY patient with her despite acting crazy and destroying everything (even spitting on him some point) despite not knowing ANYTHING about her at all because he was aware she wasn’t fully “okay”
- Didn’t have Miesa ‘prove’ her worth to him for an ounce of recognition .
- Didn’t let anyone else mistreat her or talk bad about her despite, again, not knowing if the whole ‘lunatic’ behavior was an act or not, deeply sympathizing with her situation.
- WAS SUPER RESPECTFUL DURING THE NIGHT OF SUPPOSED CONSUMMATION??? like usually the ML would not even come to their shared room at all but I was glad he had the decency to untie our poor girl.
- Also respectful while bathing her (this is just bare minimum but this is a deal breaker for some people lol)
- EDUCATING MIESA HIMSELF LIKE HELLO??? Teaching her how to speak and how the process of voice comes?? Providing her books to speak better??
- Telling servants to keep sweets everywhere since he thought that Miesa enjoyed them (so cute)
- Already indulging in Miesa’s small requests even while still in the process of getting to know each other like giving her a kiss on the forehead or cheek whenever she asks for it (another cute detail)
- VERY GENTLE FROM THE START !!!
- Keeping Miesa’s secret and helping her through it instead (mwah)

At first, I also didn’t like the ML. Didn’t even remember his name because it’s barely mentioned. Plus, I was rolling my eyes so hard at everyone being so “omg he did this, he did that” while he does the bare minimum (being a decent person) and I’m still a little meh on it but currently? They’re honestly perfect for each other.
FL is carrying this manhwa, no doubt. Reading through the recent chapters, it solidified the ML as being the ‘support’ and “do whatever you want, I’ll handle the consequences” type of character. In that sense, he’s a good match for Lass. Why? Because he said it himself, this is HER revenge. She has plotted everything, worked hard to make sure all was according to plan. It’s clear that she doesn’t like making mistakes (even timing herself to do a certain mission) so the ML being a ‘behind the curtains’ person and not literally fighting with her side by side makes sense.
By the looks of it, Lass doesn’t mind this dynamic. She can cause any type of ruckus she wants because her backer is literally the most powerful person with superior armies. He KNOWS not to interfere with something that’s clearly very important for Lass, and it’s revenge towards her family. So, he lets her go wild.
Also a thing to note, in one of the chapters, Lass recalled a memory from her past life with how Nicola had been treated and now that she had taken her hostage for a while, she says something along the lines of “Now you can be unhappy by in hands.” Which insinuates that she clearly wants to get revenge on them by her own hands instead.
I also wanted for Sang to be the ML before, but now either of them would’ve been fine.
Everything just got darker in season 2, huh? Like I’ve waited so so long since season 1 for Peri and Therdeo’s relationship to progress and now that did, I got so sensitive everytime they have these small arguments. The insinuation that Dodolea might’ve drugged Therdeo and then assaulted him hurts, and I know Peri will get to the bottom of this and give him comfort. My parents :((

In most revenge manhwas I’ve read, there’s a point where the mc faces an an obstacle but wouldn’t dare cross a certain line to get things that they want but Kanna ain’t having none of that.
THIS is what true desperation for survival looks like, she’ll stoop as low as it can get for her plans to work and taking revenge in the most wicked ways possible. And y’know what? The harvest she gets for it is much better and more sinister. Tbh, that’s fierce as fuck

I have A LOT of questions but at the same time... fuck it? There were a lot of random twists and unexpected romances and it's pretty funny lmao. About the couples... they feel a lil forced except the main couple Especially Girgantia and Tania??? They were like- the funniest pair and now they done turned him into a human just so she could have a man like everyone else in the story lolol but a nice and light read overall.
it may look like forced, but that really wasnt the case if the story only prolonged what happened to every other girls. like they couldve put some povs for them for us to understand their relationship, but since they focused too much on the actual main cast it didn't make that sense. the only scene we could get from them was how "suitable they are for each other" when they were at the festival, which is when they ate a lot. the rest was some conversations they had in some scenes such as tania was responsible for him, and girgantia's knowledge of her book preferences.

Yeah like Jaekyung and Taeju and that guy from terminus... They all were totally loan sharks and sexual abusers but they never hit or drugged the bottoms. Not to mention there was no chaining up like "dogs" or verbal humiliation there, so yeah definitely worse. But the people have been kind to him haha... he's been *somehow* redeemed. Plus it started so long ago.( The cutie baby might be a big reason too lol)
Good for them, but I don’t think I can stomach this type of toxicity from the start of a story. People are saying it’s going to get better but first impressions like this leave a bad taste in my mouth, but enjoy what you enjoy anyway
No actually, I lean more towards the side that you're on. It's just that I started it and then after hating the uke for all his actions and abuse I later just turned my brain off coz you can check out another long comment that I left about how their are double standards while forgiving mc/bottoms as opposed to tops when both are toxic. The story gets better but no matter what it won't erase all the fucked up shit the uke did to an innocent person. There was a trend for doormat uke's and asshole tops back then and now the roles have reversed in many recent manhwas. What's trash should be called as it is whether it's mc or ml. But as u can some characters are excused easily while the others are bashed.
