I'm so happy that she got her revenge AND that the story isn't about "happiness or revenge". And I love that there is so many characters who might turn "bad", "good" or "grey". Violeta sound like a good person too, I hope she will really take care of Margaux! ... it's weird that his name is a french girl name btw but okay XD

Cool motive. Still murder

I have to disagree with you here. I think this is a classic tale of history being told by the victors, with Soleia's family drawing the short end of the stick.
Her parents were murdered as well, and Soleia really just wants to avenge them.
Sure, maybe she's going about it the wrong way, but I think we should still empathize (but not sympathize) with her behavior and thought process.
I mean, if you were a 10 year old and your parents get killed for something they can't control, wouldn't you be pissed off as well?

im sorry as im not that good at english but as far as i get from your last sentence "if you were a 10 yo and your parents get killed for something they can't control, wouldn't you be pissed off as well" isnt that right? i mean its not something "they can't control" right ? because they technically 'choose' something that is regarded as something 'forbidden' as it is harmful in the empire, to study to by themselves? they could've stop practicing black magic or just surrender or leave the empire, but they, as an empire's noble, continued to practice something that is forbidden which basically mean you have committed a treason isnt it? and deserve some sort of punishment? sorry for my poor english as it is not my native language but i hope you can understand my questions as i am confused

I mean, I think they've been villainized. Like sure "black" magic can kill people, but it's not different from their holy power as I'm plenty sure that can kill as well, and even without it I'm sure this "holy" empire has killed plenty of innocence in order to maintain power.
And even let's say black magic is as bad as people assume it to be, there's the claim oh they killed her parents, but murdering others isn't the answer. The same argument can be said about killing her parents, why not lock them up or banish them? Why do you have to kill them?
To set an example? Isn't killing off people who don't conform simply dictatorship? If you view if from the perspective of Soleia, this could just be some kind of twisted discrimination against her and her family and they were treated poorly. We also are not given insight on what her parents did, so we really cannot judge Soleia and her actions.

Like I said, "Cool motive, still murder". Because yes she was a child who saw her family and friends murdered, ok, and yes we don't know everything, BUT when you see her being like "should I kill the pink princess for my my revenge and the prince who was a CHILD when my parents died? Oh yes no problem" then it's STILL murder XD she has a side backstory but she is a villain.
PERIOD IS COMING
I don't think you get sick because of that
Maybe she is just having bad cramps ? Or she might just have a fever tbh.
stuff in novels are usually exaggerated so i won’t be surprised if its really the case or maybe author was just creating an opening for the third prince to return
Isn't she too young to get period tho?
Had mine when I was 9. How old is she again?
