I think moderately enjoyed this one but the fuckass ending ruined it. I'm on the side stories, ch 113, and wtf why did the og rhyse who did nothing wrong get exiled and then die when that mf Cliff is still out and about chasing love?? The ending is so over the place. Oh and absolutely never saw any chemistry between Rhynon and Anna either, and you're telling me they've been in love all this time what the helly
The ending isnt all over the place though? She was exiled bc the OG rhyse returning doesnt undo what the author did while being in her body and the ppl there dont know that that wasnt OG Rhyse. Also there's a lot of stuff that happens behind the scenes that arent told but that doesnt mean they dont occur. I feel like this is coming from a place of not actually understanding what you've read.
As for Cliff, idk maybe you missed a BIG CHUNK of what was literally spoonfed information there but he's looking for the rhyse he knew, not the og rhyse that has returned. He has an inkling that the rhyse he was obsessed with was different. Also I feel like you completely missed the point of cliff. He's the character that was influenced the most by the author bc he was part of the author's projection so his entire existence basically revolved around the author for multiple lifetimes and it's pretty obvious that took a toll on him as the author literally said that cliff became more and more obsessed throughout the repeated lives. It's sort of like a corruption. So in the end, the damage of that corruption to cliff became basically irreversible as it practically imprinted on his soul. He was created solely to be a projection of the author's desires and for 14 lifetimes, the author took advantage of that and used him as she pleased and that's why he became like that.
Not to mention that, for the first time in his life, he was met with a situation he couldnt control/grasp, thus the complete mental breakdown. He was aware that author!rhyse was gone and that the rhyse that was there now wasnt the same rhyse he was with for so long but his mind couldnt compensate for the dissonance since he lacked information so he basically just went crazy bc he couldnt make sense of the sht that was happening. He knew that there was smth wrong but he couldnt figure where that smth wrong began and ended. Thus his behavior.
1. Behind the scenes contexts at least leave some effect to be actually considered so. There are many things readers can infer from stories, I do too. IMO this manhwa is a case of poor writing (particularly in the wrap up) and is not layered enough for Rhyse to be an outcast; if you've noticed, they try to kind of paint a sob story for the og author by the end too. This is one of those stories where everyone is, deep down inside, a good person, or something similar idk how to phrase it. I still didn't mind her being an outcast as it did make sense, up until they decided she should pass away. Killing off a character doesn't always create a lasting impression of them or the story. It's unnecessary tragedy. I don't understand what else could've been the reason behind this decision.
2. Ik he's looking for the og author, hence I said he's chasing after love and not rhyse, you somehow missed that. I get everything you said about how his obsession has been slowly shaped through the author dictating his life. In that case, I felt like he would've been the more appropriate character to have been killed off. There's still a possibility he dies and chases the author in later chapters, which makes og rhyse's death even more unnecessary. Then everyone except her gets a happy ending, including the og author.
Rhyse literally got her happy ending. Just bc YOU dont deem it enough doesnt mean she wasnt happy. All her wishes were fulfilled, she lived the remainder of her life in peace doing what she loved (helping ppl) and she got reunited with og edith and they're off to their next adventure together. Your idea of happiness not coinciding with og rhyse's idea of happiness and actual happiness doesnt mean it's not happy. Rhyse was literally over the fcking moon that she got to reunite with og edith and that og edith waited for her so they can reincarnate together.
1. I said that it was fine until og rhyse passes away. She looked happy, but I wasn't sure what the point was when she suddenly dies. AND I've mentioned that I was last on ch 113. So all I've said so far are only based upto Ch 113.
2. I just caught up with the side story finale and I see they've explained the reasonings behind what has happened, and as you said, og rhyse and og edith have reunited while Cliff is finally facing the repercussions of his actions, so I'm not mad at the ending.
3. Now the ending aligns with what the story has to offer: happily-ever-afters (and punishments for the wrong-doers). You are entitled to your opinion and I to mine. But you have been too busy with your justification that you failed to notice that I clearly hadn't read the last 2 chapters... I'm sure you had an inkling in the beginning when you were asking if we had read the same story at all, my bad for not noticing that you missed the point.
To add to that, you didn't really need to go dig up a comment I made half a month ago. Just telling me things are explained after ch 113 would have been enough, would've have saved both of our time. BTW it's a shame we only get to see a glimpse of yuri, which just further proves that it definitely is a poor wrap up. Wouldn't you rather have had more chapters about og rhyse and og edith spending some good times after their reunion than the sudden and very unlikely love story between Anna and Rhynon? I like them, but this had way more potential and that is what has upset me.
Just reread for the 3rd time. I love them so much. I love their bickering. And their skinship. Cuddly goodness. Kaburagi initiates so naturally and Onoe reciprocates so well. And it's so cute how Onoe isn't used to it but tries to initiate at times and Kabu picks up on it. Talk about domestic life. I'm usually scared for airhead ukes but Onoe is so adorable and thankfully hasn't gotten into any major trouble yet (partly because Masayan and Kasai are intelligent). I love how they communicate but there are also things they can't tell each other directly. They're their own person. Love isn't always about laying yourself bare to your partner; sometimes it's about supporting and comforting each other
