He is super heartbroken when he realizes that he didnt recognize the prince there all along and the reality of what he has become. He runs to find the prince killing people in the forest and faints after crying tragically upon realizing how hard the prince's life was. He kinda stops breathing for a while and more stuff happens but it's not until meae the end of the season (a good 10 more chapters-ish later when he realizes that the prince knows who he is)
