absolutely loved this. Going into my favorites immediately, I love even more that it was a short story, so misunderstanding and angst were resolved quickly too. I remember in 2022 Ez gave an overview of what they wanted to do with smut scenes and based on what happened in the latest chapter of the korean release, they are definitely having their first time next week or the week after that. Probably foreplay next week and the actual deed later. Anyway they are giving Checkmate lately because Taeji is still a manipulative psychopath and Sooyoung knows it too but likes it, clearly has a soft spot for him and obsesses over what he's doing.

This feels like POTN in the way that the plot keeps circling without going nowhere. They hate/suspect each other, they fuck, cute scene, they fuck, they hate/suspect each other, step forward to the revenge plot, they fuck, cute scene and so on.. of course we are now back to the hate/suspect each other. First season also lasted soo long i just hope the authors take their time to make more than one step forward to the actual plot... sad that we are in the slave sex arc though. It's been some time since I've read s1 but I don't get it why Yeonjo decided to poison him anyway when he knew the dose wasn't a lethal dose anyway. He is so careful all the time and worked so hard to get there so it's weird that he was so impatient, when he knew he wouldn't be able to kill him. If he really wanted to kill him he shouldve waited another opportunity, just do it well or don't do it at all that's so dumb
for me it felt like yeonjo just wanted to be killed bc he somewhat devolved feelings for heeryang. he a part of him still sees heeryang as the monster (he for the most part is) and probably thought he would just kill him.
I'm on chapter 56 when Iljo decides to leave the second time... yeah I'm out, I'm dropping this. Jeonghan changed and all, development or whatever i don't care he is still a fucking piece of shit I hate his hypocrite lying manipulating gaslighting ass. In the beginning of this webtoon i felt SICK reading it because he looked like one of those abusive gaslighting husbands that need to see the huge power difference they have with their partners to live. He made everything possible to keep their power imbalance, it was sickening. What's more disgusting is that back then they didnt even have any type of relationship other than being cousins, and Jeonghan himself made him live with him. Fuck him, I hate him so much. And Iljo... I feel bad for him, I genuinely do, he has been abused physically and emotionally all his life and I try so hard to sympathise with him. I did for first 40+ chapters. But it gets to a point... I feel for his friend too, he tries so hard to help him... but he continues to want to be a pathetic doormat and being stepped on by everyone, even his "lover".
This story gave so many headaches and spiked up my stress levels every time I read a chapter, I couldn't even get into the smut, Jeonghan always talked big about having experience, Mr perfect and whatever and you're such a piece of shit that he hurts him, doesn't wear a condom, cums inside, doesn't take it out and doesn't clean him up??? All the time?? So many times that he ends up in the hospital?? And remember he is his cousin??? And supposedly he loves him???? Yeah bye
