The exam questions change, instead of being about the special law of Awakened which he studied for, it will be about monsters and their behavioral patterns which is something J is specialized in as a veteran.
Everyone else thinks it's torturous and is frustrated.
J passes on his first try!

This exam is a set up by the bureau to try find J by making the questions all about monsters, something new hunters won't know a lot about. Lee sayoung intercepts the information and blocks them off from finding eui jae, he has suspicions and eui jae being J but says nothing is confirmed yet. I'm quite far into the novel now so the details are a bit spotty.

What I remember next is that grandma goes to nam woojin to get a check up along with her Eui jae's niece and lee sayoung. Eui jae goes with his grandma into the check up room with nam woojin while lee sayoung looks after his Eui jae's niece because Eui jae asked him to. Grandma gets send to do some physical therapy and while at physical therapy Nam woojin says he wants to talk to Eui jae for a bit regarding the diagnosis. They say its treatable and with medication she should be fine but never fully cured. Nam woojin is curious about the relationship that Eui jae has with lee sayoung and how they met so he takes them into this kind of inter dimension space and starts to ask him questions casually. Eui jae is on guard and is careful with his answers. Nam woojin decides to tell him about lee sayoung and that he was actually a test experiment of Prometheus. Prometheus is the organisation that Eui jae is currently investigating with Lee sayoung. Nam woojin explains Prometheus is a cult like group that believe in trying to artificially awake people to get more hunters. He says that no one knows if Lee sayoung was awaken because of the group or because of the stress of the situation. Nam woojin ends this interaction by giving him a ticket to Hong se Yeongs Auction which Eui jae tries to reject but eventually gives in.

WOW this checks all boxes for me!
- age gap
- BDSM
- and most importantly CONSENT
I love when a sadistic Top is a green flag outside the bed room!! Ahh what a gentleman, even refusing him for the age gap, just taking him out to dinner and paying and not wanting to be a bad experience seeing how he'd be the first for Mc.
No shade but can some authors that also write BDSM stories please take notes?

Honestly I have a soft spot for Shun, what he did is not excusable and never will be but I believe he genuinely loves Mc and despite not being sane and also suffering from deep rooted trauma, he treats him gentle when they're alone and even lets him use his phone and encourages him.
He sees him as a real person instead of an object he can chain to himself, control and own, like Kyo does (dark haired ML).
I much prefer someone who is violent on the outside but has gentle thoughts than someone doing the exact opposite, it feels like there's more redeeming quality there. His 2 best friends also stick up for him no matter what and having people stay loyal to you despite all the fucked up shit also says a lot imo
If anything I want Mc to be happy, get therapy and heal.
Ideally he could learn about the meaning of love and understand that what happened to him was hate and not love.
But if any of the 2 ML's have to be endgame, pls let it be Shun, let him repent, join therapy and heal too.
And fuck Kyo, he needs to be in an asylum.

Thank you so much Iacquerine!
This brought me so much joy and I love the appreciation for her work in translating this.
I own the art book + the whole 17 volumes edition (since I loved the art on the covers, there's also a 10 volume edition).
The way she draws her characters so meticulously and with thought and intent is fascinating.
I saw an old interview she did when she worked on Otherworldly Barbara I recon where she described her progress and how each stroke was meant to represent something, some kind of emotion.
She has a rare talent for creating art and stories that carry so much meaning and I think it's a big act of respect to translate it so people of foreign languages (not being Japanese) can enjoy her work as well!
Thanks for the early Christmas gift!
I ADORE THIS!
I love their chemistry so much, Guwon really gives me puppy or gentle wolf vibes.
Jinwoo clearly has some sort of trauma, maybe his dad abused him and he instinctively tried to protect himself when Guwon came close. The hand shown in the flashback clearly wasn't his.
Can't wait to find out more about his past and also about Guwon.
I love these sort of settings about an apocalypse and survival.
Now we wait another dreadful week ;_;
