thank you staytrashy for the updates and great translations!! i loved this weird ass couple so much; i’m amazed at how far they came considering how they started (and how yahiro slowly turned horny af 24/7 lmao but i’m not complaining). they ended up being surprisingly cute and communicated well??? when the literal demon is a better character than most yaoi semes lmao. and i’m still crying at how cute all those little extras were. again thank you to the translator for the hard work; i’m so happy to have found this manga and i really look forward to seeing more of this authors work!!

i think people need to be reminded that as a character, suu was introduced to us as someone who KILLED BABIES/PREGNANT WOMEN for the sake of his and nadans survival. from the beginning we’ve known that suu is selfish and will stop at nothing to protect himself and those in his immediate circle (just nadan at that point). and i mention that to say, that suu was never meant to be “likeable;” he, like every single character in here, was always meant to be morally grey with a huge slew of problems.

then nadan (the only sense of “family” he’s ever had before entering the palace) dies (and in suus mind it’s BECAUSE OF HIM), and suu realizes that because of who he is and what he’s done, he’ll never have that simple, happy future he wanted. he looks at gahwes big, happy family and he’s mad and sad because the only person he has now is a literal demon dragon incapable of understanding people and FED A VILLAGE TO HIM (i have to point out that even if suus kind of a bitch, he does care for people and longs to belong, so imagine how it must feel seeing people that were one day smiling at you and talking to you familiarly one day disappear and you realize YOU ATE THEM).

he’s as tragic as he is flawed, and seeing people trash his character and writing just bc he pushed around saharah a little (who he came back for because again, at his core suu does care for people) is so... like are we reading the same thing??? do ppl need to go back to the beginning again???

(and fyi i LOVE saharah and ship him w suu despite their fucked up dynamic so don’t try me! i just need y’all to leave my meow meow suu alone )
