Then try to force her, but in the novel she didn't resist bc of love. But he see the marks first e think she's is protecting her father's house bc we know she can say anything relate to the plot. Anyway he got angry and reject her (even after she ask for them to do the deed). So she slept crying of loliness and rejected.
Then we find out ML went to his own room to get an ointment used for soldiers. He went back to her room, passed the ointment and slept by her side. In my imagination the were in spoon.
Well, then he leaves early to send an letter to his father in law and arrest the maid.
