We don't need a love triangle or unrequited love in order to create drama or a wave that causes ripples of story plot conflicts. I want him to JUST be a gay friend because I'm sick of stories where people are friends because they are actually in love. Like, friends can be friends just because!!!
yeah exactly!!! and it’s kind of annoying how many stories portray gay men (in particular, though i see it with bi men too) as incapable of having other gay male friends.... like. idk but it feels like an extension of the stereotype that gay people are predatory and crush on Everyone lol
but that aside!!! from a literary perspective i just think it would be nicer if kang sol remained a friend! love triangles and ”friend who’s secretly been in love with the MC for a long time” are such tired plot devices, i’d love to see a webtoon that doesn’t rely on them. would be so much funnier if kang sol just had a totally different type and there was nothing between them at all yk? fingers crossed that it stays platonic!

just a tip though, i wouldn’t recommend using italics for normal speech, they’re normally only used for emphasis or narration/ thoughts. also what font is that? is it droid? it’s fairly thin and has defined serifs, so it feels a lot like a book typeface (serif fonts are very uncommon in comics) and stood out to me as a bit odd....? but that might just be me!!
if u want tips i’d recommend getting anime ace, arch rival, action man, komika or wonder comics, they’re all free and come with more or less extensive families. thanks again for your hard work :”) i really appreciate it

i love this webtoon So much, i’ve followed it since chapter one and it just keeps getting better. probably my absolute favourite so far. here’s a long ass paragraph of me praising things i like about it:
both characters are likeable and every problem they create is understandable, the conflict doesn’t feel forced, jaeyoung falling in love feels organic, the ways that sangwoo tries to compute & handle his feelings make sense for his character, the art is beautiful, the dialogue is good, the comedic/ lighthearted moments don’t ruin the tension but offer a small refuge and lull amidst all the drama, the pixelated aesthetics of the ”errors” both enhance the character of sangwoo as we see how he perceives the world And simply look really good, the way the author visualizes the characters’ changing perspectives of each other is good, the scenarios are relatable, sangwoo is written as likeable and human which is fairly rare for autistic (? maybe im just projecting here but even if i am, that just shows this is relatable for people like me) protagonists, jaeyoung falling in love first was a good touch, things like jaeyoung having slept with men but not dated them both add to his experienced playboy persona And give him cause to hesitate/ make him insecure in this area/ lessen the imbalance between him and sangwoo re: romantic experience, the way sangwoo unintentionally upsets his female classmate without thinking is a nice touch because the consequences aren’t as obvious (whereas jaeyoung gets noticably mad) and i’d love to see this develop further, i like how there haven’t been any moustache-twirling villains so far and the first season didn’t end with some ex or parent arriving in korea, the list goes on.
anyways im broke and usually don’t end up supporting the authors as much as i’d like, but i’m going to pay for this. i downloaded lezhin and if the author has a ko-fi or something i’m going to donate. semantic error is 100% worth it and i can’t thank the team enough for continuous updates.
this recent drama is so unnecessary and pointless like.... why did the coral snake guy confess so fast to begin with...? i understand him but the tone shifted so drastically over like one chapter lol, it made me a bit confused.. i let it go though but he whole thing abt the camboy not wanting to date came so out of left field?? when was that ever established!! he kept fantasizing abt him and now has some sorta complex abt sleeping with people? i mean it’s not as if it couldn’t work but it just hasn’t been hinted at early enough for it to feel thought through. idk. this chapter just seems like very pointless drama bc the author made a character confess too early and now they have to drag out the plot so they dont start dating in chapter 10.
that aside i really like the art and characters so i guess thats why im so upset

but I'm still for it anyway, I find the storie so funny, and the art style is so amazing, it will be needed a lot to make me drop this, I still think it's pretty good

Like myself i have this crush on someone but I don’t necessarily wanna date them or something (that would be impossible aswell since they’re 99.9% straight
i said that in my comment lol that it’s not as if it couldn’t work out but the author has to put in effort to flesh out that sort of drama and establish it as something that makes sense for the character, especially when we actually get to see his pov so often. this exact conflict happens in the best smell too but i wasn’t put off by it because the author had clearly thought it out beforehand. the concept alone is fine but im just saying that as an editor it seems like smth that’s just there to stretch things out
