a different style to what you’re accustomed to does not equal bad art. the art is actually really good just not common which makes it better. you can distinguish every single character and the clothing is detailed. don’t even get me started on scenery. i’d agree with you if your problem was paneling

The grandfather is very cute but I don't like how he's projecting his own love for Layla to their grandchildren, like she's gone pops and unifying your grandchildren against their wishes won't be a replacement for your unrequited love.
Idk y u think he was romantically attracted to her grandma but I think they had a more best friend vibes and it will make scene. If it were love that was unriqueted and the grandma knew she may not have gone as far as to make a promise it will be uncomfortable. But if it were friendship and they were really close I can understand y she would do something like that
