I read this story back when it was like 20 chapters and I ended up dropping it because altho I initially came for smut, the plot was really intriguing and I ended up getting frustrated with just how many (imo forced, like unnecessary/padding) sex scenes there was that kept interuppting the more interesting plot. The smut wasn't bad I just got tired of it very quickly because it felt like it was the bulk of the story
But now im seeing its at like 60+ chapters and finished, can someone let me know if the smut tones down enough for the plot to progress faster than a little bit every 10 chapters or so?
Also did the mc get a scene with the antagonist red head? I liked his design a lot

admittedly it didn't occur to me until I read the comments, but the affair child might not be Arabella, it could be Ipollito or Isabella. Ipollito has his mother's eyes and his father's looks, whereas Isabella has her mother's eyes and maybe her hair? but I don't think she shares anything with the cardinal
It would be hilarious if in the end Isabella was an affair child, even more so because that means she's not related to the cardinal at all, compared to Ariadne who is a b@stard child but the Cardinal's none the less. I can imagine how much that would infuriate Isabella lmao
If Ipollito is an affair child too, or out of the picture in some way, then Ariadne will be the only one with a direct line to the Cardinal >:)
Also, the mother dotes a lot on Ipollito (probably cause he's a firstborn son), and Isabella. She practically ignored Arabella. I wonder if its because Arabella is actually the Cardinal's daughter, and the other two (or at least one of them) is an affair child with someone whom she actually liked.
Both of these chapters featured some delulu hyena's getting put in their place, so satisfying

I do really enjoy this story and the characters (esp the Princess and Maxi's friendship, that was really nice to see)
But I share some people's sentiments that I wish more would happen. There's been character progression which is good, but it doesn't really think the story itself has progressed that much? I wish there was more drama and just more *stuff* happening.
I don't need Maxi to go back to the capital and instantly get revenge on her family, but I do wish something big actually happened or something progressed in that storyline.
Idk how to explain it, its just too peaceful? Its not bad, but it feels very slow and like not much progression is actually happening.

Its got an interesting premise and I like that the Prince is clearly not an omega and actually quite devious. Idk how to feel about Inferna transforming into a fully grown man tho. I know technically he was an adult when he died but considering he was reborn as baby dragon anyway, I feel like it would have made more sense to have him sort of age with the prince :/

He can't be of same age as the prince because precisely as you say, he is a baby dragon. The only thing I can think of is that because the goddess granted him that (not quite his own wish) ability to be removed from his physical body he can then take on any physical shape perform. Ofc, he probably is most comfortable in his own (previous) skin, so to speak. And has experience w it. Unless he Really wants to become like a troll or something. Hahah

I like the vibes of this, its hard to explain but the vibes are cool. Give me folk tale vibes? idk how to describe it
Im probably alone in this, but Im enjoying the couple so far. I like the immortal x mortal dynamic. Im not usually into the servant x master, but Hearth actually has a backbone, and its been kind of funny and realistic so far.

bro I haven't forgotten he killed the villager in the early chapters. Im not sure whats going on with the killer (like is he the *real* killer somehow, or just a character thats got corrupted and gone yandere?) but he definitely knows more than he's letting on. Is the key in HIS pocket because he's the true killer? hmmm
Also loving how down he was it. Bro had to stop in the basement and has been burning to bend the mc over since then. Poor MC doesn't know he's already lost lmao (cause the second killer's already dead so its gonna be like 40mins until he respawns)

thank you for your hard work translator, its a pity to see you go but thank you for getting us this far.
Blink twice though if Pina is holding a gun to your head forcing u to add that collage lol
We're finally going to start seeing the counter attack soon, Im so pumped. Please please please someone else pick this series up, I can't let this be the point we stop at. I need to see the star maiden crushed TT o TT

I was waiting for it to end on a cliffhanger, but ya got me there author! That was a surprise.
I think there must be a reason tho. The queen is not a fool and genuinely loves her son, so after all that good reasoning, she must have a proper reason to say no. She has even shown her approval in the past for Ari.
I wonder why... I hope our Prince still fights for Ari tho!
NOTHING in the way of actual plot has happened and it is getting really frustrating. Her relationship with Riftan has definitely improved but it feels like its somewhat shallow development, like they're closer but ultimately do not fully know each other as people. They're still holding back from each other (Maxi not sharing her trauma and true thoughts, Riftan trying to give her the life he perceives he took her from that he feels responsible for restoring).
This would be all well and good if... stuff actually happened. The closest thing we've gotten to it is the friendship with Princess Agnes (which was lovely to see, but arguably a missed opportunity for plot/character relevant drama), and the painfully slow progression of Maxi's powers (im aware its only been like 6 months, but its felt quite long as a reader so it feels unfulfilling).
Like for example, Maxi still doesn't have a good relationship with Riftan's guards, only some have sort of warmed up to her. She still hasn't cleared up the misunderstanding about her not going to live in Anatol after they married. There was a subplot that the servants treated her somewhat distantly, did they all finally warm up to her and respect her?? who knows.
Also there was a hint like last season that Riftan and Maxi would be invited to the capital and Maxi would have to navigate noble life again, and the trauma around that/how she would cope, but how maybe her new perspective/new found experience/support would help her.
But nope. They are taking strolls in the garden and Riftan is initiating sexy times again. At this point im pretty sure Maxi must have significant fertility problems because she should be well and truly pregnant at this point, but she isn't.
I like this story. Ill probably continue reading, but Im not really all that invested anymore, which is a sad thought because I really liked the premise and the start was very interesting and well written :(
I just want something to *happen*
Something is gonna happen soon, think of this as the calm before the storm.
However, in terms of maxi and riftan's relationship, it rlly doesnt develop much
Relax, this is a suuuuper slow burn. I promise you'll like it if ou like that sort of thing
its good to hear at least something is gonna happen but god how soon is soon? we're 80 chapters in, idk if I have another 20+ chapters of nothing in me left.
Slow burn doesn't mean nothing happens, it means stuff progresses at a slow pace. Thats the problem, nothing is happening and relationships/ect are progressing at a snail's pace.
I like slowburn and appreciate story's that take the time to build up to events and don't just rush through them. Stuff still has to happen though, can't just be endlessly dilly dallying.
There's slowburn and then there's this.
HAHA, there's long road way ahead for this story, yes it's a slowburn, but for this one the slow is like a snail. What you've read in the manhwa is like only 1/10 of the novel. So yeah, you've to be have a patience like a saint ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
I’ve said it before but after reading the first book of the novel and getting through the first 10 or so chapters of the second novel, this was honestly not a good story to adapt to manhwa. Like the commenters above mentioned, this is EXTREMELY slow burn. While plot does happen eventually and things do get relatively exciting for Maxi as she grows into herself, this takes a LOT of time and from what I can remember, we are still…a long way away from that. I can’t imagine how long it’ll even take to get there with updates from the manhwa.
Not to mention (HUGE SPOILERS AHEAD) (LAST WARNING: SPOILERS NEXT) that the growth Maxi experiences honestly ends up coming at the cost of her relationship with Riftan deteriorating for a WHILE because of the circumstances. Even though the pace felt much better in the book, it still took a very long time for their relationship to repair, which was so frustrating given how long it took them to get to where they were in the first place. It was like ten steps ahead for Maxi and a three mile walk backward for their relationship. Their story is absolutely not done in anyway after the first novel since it basically ends in nearly a cliffhanger, so the second part has to be adapted too. I just don’t see how that’s feasible given then slow pacing of it all. It’ll take way too long.
Also, I feel like the plot is very descriptive in the novel. Its almost all Maxis inner thoughts and descriptions and how she feels. Its done very beautifully in the novel but a lot about what Maxi feels will feel like very long and boring internal dialogs if put in the manhua. I would highly recommend reading the novel.
Really well said.
So much gets lost in the manhwa
Tbh I dont know how many chaps exactly
I reccomend u stop reading it for now and wait for more chapters to pile up so u can binge read
