Did ML ask the prince at some point to break up MC's supposed engagement/marriage to her 'childhood friend'? I'm not certain what else it could be...
...uh, I hope I'm wrong about that because the implications...

I thought that at first, but I think ML found out before the timeskip - there's that chap where he stalks her back to her hometown after getting the background check from his dad, and he talks as though he knows her gender.
...but if it was a request for same sex marriage...that's still pretty bad cuz it'd be like 'lol, idc about that since it no longer affects me personally'. ...yikes.

I don't think I've read anything as unserious as this that doesn't crash straight into cringe territory. Don't judge it by the first chapter - it's the little girl who has the crush, and MC doesn't really seem to actually have a romantic arc at all.
True, most of the single female characters who are not MC's disciples have something of a crush on MC and MC has his little fantasies about them, but the story doesn't really focus on any sort of romcom shenanigans. The story is mainly about MC and his disciples being OP and cool. There's very little stakes to the whole thing, it's just a silly comedy.

All the romance is in the background, I think the only time MC has done anything even semi-romantic is one very slapstick sort of date with 'oh no, the love interest can't cook anything edible!' gag. I think there's also this one cultivator sect master lady who likes MC and is pretty overbearing, but she doesn't show up a lot where I left off (though it's been a while). But no, none of the romantic melodrama or anything.

idek at this point, there could be some bastard violating the Geneva convention like it's a checklist and still be 'redeemable' because hot+tragic.
There was a perfectly good Argio right there, and MC has to go around first sleeping with a barely legal kid young enough to be his student and a rapist eggplant. MC's standards keep dropping so low they're going to drill up oil soon.
> King asks MC to marry an 8 year old
me: wtf, does he want to kill her love life? And scar a child while he's at it?
> King: see, the evil duke who's manipulating said 8 year old wants to get me to betrothe his 12 year old daughter to the kid
me: And you can't just say no? wtf, aren't you a king?
> King: so the only solution is to marry this 8 year old to my 20 year old knight.
me: Or, you could take him under your protection. Or give him a retainer. Or just outlaw child marriage. Take your pick.
> King: He's also loaded so you'll finally have enough money to pay your debts!
me: Or, you could pay her. For fighting in your war. Like a decent employer/ruler. You stingy mf.
> MC: Wow, duke bad! daughter mean! Little boy adorb - must protecc!! I know, I'll marry him!
me: Why??? Can't you just, idk, adopt him or something?
> MC: okie, I spent a few weeks with the child and married him, I'm going to ice myself for a 10 year time skip
me: ...What? So what was all that about protecting him or whatever, you just disappear while the main baddie has full access to the 8 year old? Why even have this premise if you're too much of a coward to explore its implications author-nim?
> MC: Oh how convenient! My 8 year old husband is a very convenient 18! And everyone else is the same age(and position) as pre-timeskip!
me: how nice that you're technically not committing a crime. And how nice that the passage of time affects no one but the child characters.
> MC: Oh? Why is my former child husband so unruly? I didn't raise him like this!
me: You didn't raise him at all - you just f-d off into hyperspace a few weeks after meeting (and marrying) him! Your subordinate who trained him raised him more than you! The evil duke was in his life longer than you! Hell, even his dad who he last saw when he was 3 raised him more than you!
> former child groom: the lady who I saw for a few weeks when I was 8 (and subsequently married) is back! And I love her romantically for some reason!
me: child, how do you even remember someone you met at 8 for a few days? I don't even remember my teachers anymore! What magical memory do you possess???
Thank you for your summary, I didn't go past chapter 3. It's more than enough, not appealing at all.
I thought it was stupid and pedo since the chapter 0, and your summary confirms it. If anything it's actually worse than I thought. Thanks
