I actually liked this manga.
I see a lot of people saying the seme didn't suffer enough for the really awful rejection he gave back when he was young. But I think he did. Actually, that's probably what I liked about it most. He stopped dating people with the characteristics of the uke, which was the kind of person he was attracted to. He apologized. And it was pretty sincere too.
I also loved how he kept referring the uke back to his supposed boyfriend. That's pretty nice to see since partner betrayal is not my thing in manga.
Anyway, it might not be enough for some people, but it's enough for me. I think if he'd been made to suffer this wouldn't be as enjoyable for me as it was.
I'd call this a more realistic take on homophobia. Homophobic teenagers don't know what they're doing. Not really. Panicking and saying stupid, hurtful things is also realistic. Growing up to regret the things you did as a teenager is normal. But you don't deserve to suffer forever for the things you do wrong when you were a kid.
I don't always like realism in manga. The divide is kind of necessary. But in this case I appreciated that side of it.
If they hadn't flubbed the ending.
Could have worked if they broke the chapter after the rescue, added another chapter with some tension, maybe a decision to be made. Then you have him return and it wouldn't have been as bad as it was.
I mean, it would have still been too rushed because way too much was packed into the final chapters. But at least there would be something. They could also have added a text-dominant epilogue where they closed off 'x happened, and now I'm doing y job and Ray is at z place and we're fucking so happy we could die'.
A 4 star is pretty good considering.
The seme is a huge jackass. Hate him to bits.
Tries to use his power and influence to force the uke into a position he can't get out of. Tries to get him fired so he can force him into the role he prefers. Intrudes on child raising. Kidnaps the child. And the (timeline wise) first thing he did was interfere with the ukes reproductive plans so that the child the uke planned for wasn't born.
This kind of behaviour reminds me of a YoI A/B/O doujin where Viktor decides he wants to force Yuri into being his mate so he throws away his pills so he could rape him.
Some people will be able to overlook all this badness. The art is nice. The seme is attractive. The child and father are both very cute.
If you're particularly sensitive to semes who take over the lives of ukes by force and decide they get to call all the shots (like I am), give this a miss.
Jacques pushes Fon down on he bed was great. Let's do more of that.
I really want to read the novels. Why can't it be easy to translate stuff?
Here you go :)

But I couldn't help but feel a little wistful that Geum and Miha and would run off together and leave their abusive lovers in the dirt.
They both kind of need each other and would have treated each other kindly. Instead they're going to return to their lovers and just keep get treated like shit.
Idk, I just don't like when people fold so easily.
I agree
