I like it. I admit he was selfish but I understood why he chose to be with his childhood friend. It is really hard to wait for a person, even more so if the one you're waiting for is the one who you really love. Hell, I've been with my boyfriend for 7 years but I still don't like it if we didn't see each other for 2 weeks or more (but I can endure it if it's for work ┗( T﹏T )┛but I'll miss him alot all the time)

Now that you asked, I probably do not understand because I'm not mature enough for it. I don't understand their feelings, the meaning behind because I'm still naive. I will try to read it again and again, then maybe when my maturity caught up, I can understand everything. ┗( T﹏T )┛
The story wasn't focused on romance. Rather it was exploring themes of self-acceptance, visibility, ways of being an ally, identity not solely focused on sexuality or gender. If there is a character or scene you want a better understanding of, feel free to ask. I'll do my best to explain. I can see how the story may be a little confusing if you don't have a lot/any personal experience. I hope this helps some ^^
